What's the special significance of people who serve cakes on their birthdays in Thailand?

Thailand is a country with a strong religious belief, and religious activities or ceremonies are deeply intertwined in the daily life of Thai people. Birthdays are no exception. The way Thai people celebrate birthdays is quite different from that in China.

If you are in Thailand, on your birthday, Thai people will prepare food in advance, wait outside the door for the monks who come for alms, and give them food.

This is actually a very common and common thing in Thailand, which happens every day and every street. But birthdays will be slightly different. Everyone will decide the amount of food according to the lucky number 9 (sound the same as "progress"), or according to their age plus one.

Before offering food, a birthday wish will be made, and after putting it out, the monk will read Sanskrit scriptures to show his blessing.

This is the most common birthday ceremony. In fact, there are mainly the following three birthday rituals, and you can do one or more of them selectively.

1. Give alms to monks of the same age or older. There is no limit to the number of monks, depending on their own situation. . ?

2. Worship ancestors. .

3. Do good deeds, chant scriptures, fast monks or invite monks to preach. . ?

But what if Thais come to China? There are not so many monks chanting alms on the streets of China. How will Thais celebrate their birthdays?

Last Saturday, I went to eat Thai food with Thai color and Siam fragrance in Tongzilin, and was told that the chef and his party were not in the store and went out to celebrate their birthdays. So I had a whim to write an article about how Thai people celebrate their birthdays.

On this issue, I would like to thank Wen Siam Education & Ms. Li Huishan, the founder of Thai Siam Incense, came forward to answer:

Even when Thai people come to China, they will take time to go to a nearby temple as early as possible on their birthday to worship Buddha and donate money or articles to the temple. (It can be seen that the Buddhist belief in Thailand is really deeply rooted in people's hearts)

At noon or at night, I will find a place to get together with my family or friends. Of course, some people want to have a simple birthday and cook at home with their family or close friends. It depends on personal hobbies.

Birthday cakes are more international. Like China, Thailand has the custom of eating cakes, making wishes and blowing out candles.
