October 17, 1994: Everyone says that Microsoft employees use interviews to release their work pressure, because Microsoft interviews are notoriously tricky. Today, I also felt the experience of being fooled.

I flew from Los Angeles to Seattle last night. When I got to the airport, I rented a car and stayed in a hotel. It was already past 12 o'clock in the evening. Before 8 o'clock this morning, I came to Microsoft early and found Building 25 of Microsoft Personnel Department. Then I started wandering around Microsoft alone, "getting familiar with" the environment here. Microsoft's headquarters is open, and the whole company consists of 25 buildings. The environment is really beautiful, just like a park, with neat flowers and lawns everywhere. People here call the company campus, and the distance between buildings is very far. There is a small bus ferry in campus. I really don't know what big American companies are like if I don't come here. Compared with the companies I met in Los Angeles and my own company, those companies really can't be called companies. I suddenly have a feeling that employees really shouldn't work in small companies, which is really too insightful.

I arrived at the personnel department at 8: 3 on time, and the recruitment assistant gave me a copy of my schedule. The interview is from 9: a.m. to 5: p.m., with one person and eight people every hour. Seeing this schedule, I really don't understand. I'm here for an interview with a software engineer. I decided on the spot when I interviewed alone, but here I have to be interviewed by eight people. It feels a bit like what I heard-because interviewing others can relieve stress, so Microsoft tries to get more people to interview.
