Jiangsu was named after the initials of jiangning house and Suzhou during the Kangxi period of Qing Dynasty. It is one of the birthplaces of ancient civilization in China, and is known as the land of plenty. In the 22nd year of the Republic of China (1933), an administrative supervision area was established. The system in Jiangsu Province continued until after the Republic of China.
