Semporna:

The important thing to say is that accommodation in Semporna needs to be booked one month in advance, especially the water houses. There are relatively few accommodation options in the town. There are more people staying in Feng. I saw that the facilities were relatively old, so I booked the Pacific Hotel (about RMB 700). I stayed for 3 days. The room for the first two days was very small, but I changed it to a slightly larger one on the last day.

Kota Kinabalu:

Pacific Silk Hotel (around RMB 700), the hotel environment is very good, with a small private beach and swimming pool. I use Uber to travel, and the price is less than 10 ringgit.

Kuala Lumpur:

About transportation

Kota Kinabalu:

As for airport pick-up and drop-off, Kota Kinabalu Airport is very close to the city. If you have a day trip, the travel agency will provide it. As for the airport pick-up and drop-off service, we pick up the passengers from the airport and use Uber to drop them off from the airport. If you live in the city center, you can basically walk. It is recommended to download Uber or Grab when you arrive locally, and register with a local mobile phone number to call a car. As for the airport pick-up and drop-off, Semporna is far away from the city, about more than an hour. If you book a day trip, there is an airport pick-up and drop-off. Communicate the time with the travel agency in advance. If you don’t have a reservation, there are many minibuses with signboards for carpooling as soon as you get off the plane, priced at 25 MYR per person. Later, I also contacted the driver to deliver it to the airport. The town of Semporna is very small, and everything is on foot.

Kuala Lumpur:

Regarding airport pick-up and drop-off, we took an Uber taxi after getting off the plane, which took about 1 hour and cost about MYR 70. I always use Uber to travel, but there is no option for Chinese-speaking drivers in Kuala Lumpur, so I have to rely on it. Not all drivers can speak Chinese. And taking a taxi will take a long time. You can try grab. My friend said it would be faster to take a taxi. I was dropped off for a 8:20 pm flight, but I was told to pick him up at 4:30, saying I was afraid of traffic jams at that time, so I went early. Anyway, we didn’t have much traffic jam. Instead, we had a meal after arriving, got a tax refund, and were still in a hurry to register. It is recommended that everyone arrive early.

About sun protection:

September 26

Kota Kinabalu

I slept until noon and went to the mall to exchange money and go shopping. The malls are relatively small and there is nothing to visit. I want to rent I searched a lot for a motorcycle but couldn't find it. In the afternoon, we went to Daqie Lai for seafood. The buttered tiger prawns were pretty good, but the crabs were just average.

After eating, we went to Tanjung Aru Beach for a walk. There were quite a lot of people. If you want to take pictures, it is recommended to go early. The sunset time is very short and it will get dark soon. It rained that day so the photos were not very beautiful

September 26

Sapi Island and Manukan Island because I wanted to go to Semporna to visit the islands, so I didn’t choose the Mermaid Island. Instead of choosing an island with more water sports, you can finish the tour on an island with more water sports. I slept until 10 o'clock in the morning and took a taxi to the pier. After comparing the prices at several windows, I decided to negotiate the price. Finally, I decided on a two-island tour, which included motorboats, flying fish, and towing umbrellas. The cost is about MYR 500 for 2 people. You can also book a day trip online in advance. There are relatively few people on the island. Maybe we arrived late so we missed the tour group. The guy who drove us on the motorboat, Lao Hei, was super dedicated and drove us all the way to provide dubbing. He also deliberately drove it twice. 9 March 27th

The one-day tour of Mosque-Proboscis Monkeys-Fireflies reported online. We were picked up at the hotel at 1 noon. I just want to say that this trip is really boring, but the fireflies are worth seeing. Yes, but it’s a long way away and I feel like there’s really no need to go.

A friend I met on the way went on a one-day trip to the sacred mountain. You can go paragliding. It felt pretty good, but it was a pity that I didn’t have time to go there. Post photos of them playing.

I called Uber to go to the airport from Kota Kinabalu to Semporna. All taxis in Kota Kinabalu are Uber. It is very cheap and convenient, and you can choose a Chinese driver. I arrived at Tawau Airport at 3pm. When I left the airport, there were many people holding signs for carpooling for 25 MYR per person. The airport is quite far from the city, about an hour. I dropped off my luggage at the hotel and went out to look for food. I was going to eat KFC and couldn't find a place, so I asked a teenage kid. The two kids took us there. When they arrived, they asked us for money. We gave them 3 MYR and refused to comply. He almost snatched it from the wallet, but I stopped him. Semporna is a small town, so everyone must pay attention to safety when going there and don't wander around at night.

Semporna is very small and there is not much to do. I went to the supermarket to buy some things. I went to buy seafood. There were many people selling seafood at the entrance of the dive site. The later the time, the cheaper it is. Remember to bargain. After buying, take it to the food stall for processing, which is much cheaper than buying it at the food stall. Sea view, everyone from all over the world eats it, the taste is the same. There is no wasabi there. If you want to eat lobster sashimi, remember to bring it there!
