In 2009, Lille Business School Group and CERAM Business School merged to form SKEMA Business School. The two schools were built in 1892 and 1963 respectively. SKEMA Business School has multiple campuses both internationally and domestically.
French campuses are located in: Lille, Paris, Sofia Science Park (near Nice). International campuses are located in: Suzhou, China, Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and Raleigh, North Carolina, the United States. ESSEC Business School was founded in 1907 as an economics school. Together with HEC Business School and ESCP Business School, it is known as the three higher business schools in Paris. In 2017, after Emmanuel Macron was elected as the President of France, ESSEC President Jean-Michel Blanquier (who took office in 2013) was appointed as the French Minister of Education, making ESSEC more important in the French education system.
