In go on road trip, road conditions and oil prices are undoubtedly the most concerned issues. At the end of 20 18, we crossed Laos, Cambodia and Thailand from Mohan Port in Xishuangbanna, China, and drove around half of Indochina Peninsula, which lasted 18 days and the journey was 5,000 kilometers. After leaving China, I walked all the way through the three countries in Southeast Asia, without encountering a toll station or a highway.
Mo Ding Port on Laos Highway 13 is the starting point and end point of our trip. We crossed the whole Laos from north to south, passing through Udomsai, Luang Prabang, Vientiane, savannakhet and Pakse. Laos Highway 13 is the earliest and only asphalt highway in Laos, which was aided by China in 1960s and 1970s. Nowadays, China-Laos Railway is also building according to highway 13. On the way from Mo Ding to Udomsai, occasionally some straight railway piers are scattered.
Highway 13 undertakes a lot of freight and passenger transport in Laos. Most of the trucks and motorcycles encountered during driving are China license plates. The international passenger shuttle bus from Luang Prabang to Kunming also passes through this road, and China and Laos have close contacts.
Long-term high-load use and disrepair have led to potholes in the asphalt pavement of 13 expressway, and even some sections have their original appearance, and the traffic is dusty as soon as it passes. In addition, it is the construction period of Mo Ding Special Economic Zone and China-Laos Railway, and the road condition of 13 is not ideal. We only entered the country for a few tens of kilometers, because the road was bumpy and the spare tire was accidentally dropped. The 380-kilometer journey from Luang Prabang to Vientiane took more than 10 hours, and only walked more than 50 kilometers in two hours.
Highway/0/3 full length/0/400 km of kloc. Designed to be two-way and two-lane, with narrow roads and many cars. From north to south, the landform gradually transits from mountainous areas to plains, and the mountain roads are most prone to fog in the morning, and occasionally it rains in Mao Mao. There are houses along the road, there are no fences on both sides of the road, and no one will cross the road at will. Of course, caution and slowness need to run through.
In Laos, yellow represents high-quality gasoline, which is equivalent to 95# and 98 # in China; Red stands for ordinary quality gasoline and blue stands for diesel. Diesel oil 8420 kip (Lao currency), ordinary quality gasoline 9 170 kip. According to the exchange rate of 1: 1220, diesel is about 6.9 yuan RMB, and ordinary quality gasoline is about 7.5 yuan RMB. Some gas stations will not have high-quality gasoline, which happens to be met by us.
It took us seven days to cross Laos from north to south, almost connecting the important cities in Laos. 20 18 12 13 We started from Wanduka Port at the southernmost tip of Laos, and we entered Cambodia from Shangding Port. After entering Cambodia, the temperature soared from 27℃ to 34℃ in just over an hour's drive. Among the three countries in this trip, the most suitable temperature in 65438+February is Laos, and the highest temperature is Cambodia.
The roads in Cambodia are all mixed with asphalt and gravel, but a lot of gravel was mixed only a few tens of kilometers after entering the country at Shangding Port. Cambodia is mostly a plain landform. From Preah Vihear to Siem Reap until leaving the country, there are vast and distant plains along the way. The road is so straight that it is difficult to see the mountains.
In Cambodia, green stands for diesel, yellow stands for No.92 gasoline and red stands for No.97 gasoline. Different gas stations use different colors to represent different oil products. Some gas stations still have 95# gasoline, such as the following stations, 95#3700 riel, 92#3450 riel, diesel 3 150 riel, converted at the exchange rate of 1: 550, 95#6.7 yuan, 92#6.3 yuan and diesel 5.7 yuan.
From Laos-Cambodia-Thailand, the road conditions are getting better and better. We left the country from the port of Pobe, Cambodia, and then entered from the port of Yalan, Thailand. The first thing we did when we entered Thailand was to wash the car. Laos, Cambodia and China are both left-handed and right-handed. Only Thailand is left-handed and left-handed. Before entering Bangkok, we obtained a temporary driver's license from the Ministry of Communications of Shajiao, valid for 30 days. Obtaining a temporary driver's license is a compulsory requirement of the Thai government. For the personal safety of drivers and passengers, it is also necessary to obtain a temporary driver's license.
The road condition in Thailand is the best among the three countries, but it also has the largest traffic volume. There are highways similar to those in China, and there will be wide isolation belts between lanes, but there are still no fences along the way. There is no barrier between lanes, which is often a test for drivers. When I came to Thailand before, I met a toll booth on the way from Suvarnabhumi Airport to downtown Bangkok. This time, I have never met a toll booth in Laos, Cambodia and Thailand.
Let's look at the oil price in Thailand. From top to bottom, it is diesel, low-quality gasoline and gasoline. According to the exchange rate of 1: 4.7, the most expensive gasoline is about 5.9 yuan, and the inferior gasoline is about 5.2 yuan. The exchange rate of VISA in Thailand is 4.7, and the exchange rates of banks and hotels are 4.3 and 4. Generally speaking, the exchange rate of Thai baht in domestic banks is better than that in Thailand, but the exchange rate of direct credit card is more impressive. Under normal circumstances, UnionPay cards or VISA can be used in places like KINGPOWER, 7- 1 1, and payment can also be made through WeChat and Alipay.
Oil prices fluctuate, and the oil prices of different gas stations in the same country may be different. Coupled with the different personal exchange rates, the oil prices in Laos, Cambodia and Thailand are actually not comparable, which is only for the reference of friends who want to drive, but relatively speaking, the oil prices in Laos are the most expensive and those in Thailand are the cheapest.
