Create a confident organizational atmosphere

In the movie Need for Speed, Marshall, the hero, went to California to participate in underground racing after he was released from prison. When he set out, the heroine had to go with him. In order to get rid of this "burden", Marshall and his team members deliberately created all kinds of troubles, hoping that she would give up. During the period, they used many "terms" that only team members can understand, such as "grasshopper" and "fresh blood", which made the heroine confused ... Of course, in the end, the heroine was not abandoned and they were not in love. Generally speaking, this movie is wonderful, and I am also very concerned about why the members of the Heroes team use special "terms". As a result of thinking, it seems that they are awesome, confident, superior and different.

In fact, in many excellent enterprises, there are often such "terms" and "jargon". My friends who work at Huawei once told me that there are many things in them that outsiders can't understand. For example, they and ZTE have always been competitors, and there will be some names that are buried in each other. ZTE called him F7 (meaning lovers' shop) and Huawei called him 26. Or create a sense of superiority by belittling competitors. It's hard to say whether it's desirable. But in my opinion, it is particularly important for enterprise managers to create a superior and confident organizational atmosphere.

When old Watson first founded IBM, all employees were required to wear black suits and white shirts. In the background at that time, this was the wardrobe of elites, and it was in this way that old Watson shaped the elite consciousness of all IBM employees. Four Seasons Hotel, an international luxury hotel, attaches great importance to shaping the self-confidence consciousness of the organization. For example, the description on the badge of the general waiter in the hotel is that the lady (waiter) serves the lady/gentleman, and the gentleman (waiter) serves the lady/gentleman. The implication is that you and I are both ladies (gentlemen) with different division of labor, so I serve you, which obviously enhances the confidence of employees invisibly.

Including a supermarket in Anhui, we all know that the wages of supermarket waiters are generally low and the work intensity is relatively high. More importantly, they often lack self-confidence because of their work. At this time, the proprietress of the supermarket thought of a trick. She went all over the country to study makeup, costume matching and etiquette, and invited these related experts to give lectures and training in the company, and held some related competitions from time to time. As the saying goes, "three points for looks and seven points for dressing up", after this training and study, all the waitresses in the supermarket have become "charming women", and they are bursting with confidence for an instant, and even become a beautiful local scenery.

The famous American psychologists Rosenthal and Jacobson conducted an interesting study. They first found a school and got a list of all the students in the school. After sampling, they provided the school with a list of a small number of students and told the school that they found through the test that these students on the list had great talents, although they may not show them at this stage ... Interestingly, in the test at the end of the school year, the academic performance of these students on the list was indeed much higher than that of other students. However, the fact is that the students on the list are only randomly selected.

Through this study, psychologists believe that this situation is due to the influence of teachers' expectations. Because teachers think this student is a genius, they have higher expectations of him, pay more attention to them in class, and send them the message that "you are all excellent" in various ways. Once students feel the teacher's attention, they will be motivated and become more confident. I will also redouble my efforts in my study, and naturally I will get satisfactory results.

In fact, the biggest problem that managers need to face is how to combine people with different cultural backgrounds, different economic status and different goals to seek common development, and how to fully mobilize the enthusiasm of all kinds of personnel to form a joint force. In my opinion, an effective way is to create a confident atmosphere. As Jack Welch said, "Giving people confidence is the most important thing I can do so far."
