Jiangwan is an ancient village with rich cultural heritage. Most of the houses in the village are hung with lanterns with the words "Xiaojiang". It turns out that Jiang's surname in Jiangwan is the descendant of Xiao He, the founding prime minister of the Western Han Dynasty. At the end of the Tang Dynasty, Xiao Li, the prime minister of Xuanzong, was usurped by Zhu Wen. His son Xiao Zhen lives in Shexian County, Anhui Province, and takes Jiang as his surname. Later, his eighth enemy, Sun Jiang, moved to Jiangwan, Wuyuan, during the Yuanfeng period of the Northern Song Dynasty.

Walking through the cloister of Lianhuachi Quqiao in front of the village, I saw a gate of Xi 'an, hidden in green, plain and desolate, and there was a big slate square inside. On the right is the big stage in the village, and on the left is the Xiaojiang ancestral hall, the first of the four ancient buildings in Wuyuan.

Xiaojiang Ancestral Temple, also known as Yong Temple, was built in Wanli of Ming Dynasty for six years, and was later destroyed by Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. 1924 reconstruction, demolished during the Cultural Revolution, and rebuilt three times in 2003. Xiaojiang ancestral hall was once known as the "best ancestral hall" among the 70 famous ancestral halls in the south of the Yangtze River. The ancestral temple is large in scale, covering a vast area, beautifully carved, full of humanistic atmosphere and royal style. Its exquisite building materials are also rare in China.
