Brief introduction of Li's life

Li studied in Chen Zibao when he was a child, and then went to a public school to study English. 19 17 when Li 12 years old, he went to England to study and became a high flyers in mathematics. 1927 graduated from the engineering department of Oxford University with a master's degree, and was elected as the president of China Student Union when studying in Britain. He returned to Hong Kong from 65438 to 0928. After three years' internship in Helun Engineering Company, he served as the vice president of Hong Kong Branch of China Institution of Engineers and the draftsman of Hong Kong Registered Works Bureau.

Before the Anti-Japanese War, Li served as secretary of Guangzhou municipal government, member of water management committee, member of urban design committee and technical director of Guangdong Provincial Construction Department. After the outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, he lived in seclusion in Chongqing. After War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's victory, he returned to Hong Kong from Chongqing, and successively served as the director of Gu Mi Grain Management Institute, member of the Tax Committee, member of the Urban Council, member of the Legislative Council, member of the Executive Council, chairman of the Public Service Utilization Committee, director of the Civil Aid Service, and chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission. In terms of social organization, he is the vice chairman of the Council of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, a member of the Council of the University of Hong Kong, the president of south china athletic association, the honorary president, the honorary president of Siyi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the honorary president of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, the permanent member of the Hong Kong Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce, the chairman of the Hong Kong Owners' Association and the Hong Kong representative of the United Nations Economic Commission for Asia and the Far East.

In 1950s and 1960s, he was awarded the honorary titles of "O.B.E", "C.B.E" and "Justice of the Peace" by the British court 1949, and was awarded honorary doctorates by the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Li's father, Li, is a famous industrialist in Hong Kong. Li Jicheng has made great progress in his career since he followed his father's footsteps. It has surpassed the original Lichtenstein family's Lichtenstein Industrial Co., Ltd. and has more than 20 large industrial and commercial enterprises. Diversified business has expanded to real estate, trade, textiles, tourism, hotels, shipping, banking, trust, natural gas, petroleum, telecommunications and the Hong Kong-Kowloon Cross-Harbour Tunnel project. The establishment of Xinghua Semiconductor Industry Co., Ltd. has opened up a new way for Hong Kong to produce integrated circuits. Li has held more than 60 commercial positions, including: Hong Kong Lichen Real Estate Co., Ltd., China Gas Co., Ltd., Steel Pipe Co., Ltd., Hisense Industrial Co., Ltd., Jiahua Petroleum Co., Ltd., Chairman of Garden Hotel, Director of Bank of East Asia in Hong Kong, Director of Mido Hotel, etc., of which about 90 are administrative positions. He attended the 4th and 5th Asia and Far East Economic Conferences and led a Hong Kong trade delegation to visit West African countries.

Li loves his motherland and hometown. In 1970s, he visited China many times to discuss economy and trade, and traveled all over Yusheng. In the 1980s, I visited my hometown and actively supported my hometown to set up cultural education and social welfare undertakings. Up to 1983, nearly HK$ 7 million has been donated for the construction of the teaching building of Huaqiao Middle School, the Overseas Chinese Federation Building in Shuangshui District, Liao Jia Bridge and Xinhui People's Hospital.
