Couplet story 18, Li meets.

(1) Miaolian Miaodui

Hu clear voice sings in the car:

Peony in spring, hibiscus in summer, chrysanthemum in autumn and plum in winter. I'm Tanhualang, and I'm from three rivers and lakes.

Li Tiaoyuan immediately understood Hu's intention. When Hu turned to ask him for a generic name, he also casually replied in the sedan chair:

Dong, Xi Chang Gung, Nanji Beidou, I am a fairy, and Sichuan Li Diaoyuan.

Hearing this, Hu was surprised and admired, and hurried out of the sedan chair to meet him. And invited Li Diaoyuan to host a banquet at home.

(2) Self-defense

Half a mountain, half a road, half a stream, half a drain;

This colleague explained: "This is the time when Su Dongpo and Huang Shangu traveled here together in the Song Dynasty. This couplet is for Su Dongpo, who doesn't deserve it, so I have to ask Huang Valley to join it at this moment to show self-restraint and seek the next couplet. Li Ming understands that this man is trying to insult him through this matter. So, he smiled unhurriedly and said, "Sue, you've got the bottom line right. Why is he right again? " Everyone was puzzled, and he went on to say, "In fact, Su asked Huang Li to write an inscription here, which was the antithesis of the first couplet, called' Righteousness'. Obviously, the second couplet is:

A tablet, a line of words, a joint and a virtual.

After listening to it, everyone felt beyond reproach and had to praise it repeatedly.

Li added: "This is right, even children in Sichuan can understand it. What do you care? "

It is said that most people in this place are ashamed, but some people are not satisfied. One of the officials said, "Impossible? I tried it when I was in Sichuan, not what you said. "

Li asked, "Who have you tried?"

Q: "What is the first step?"

The tower is brightly lit, and Zhuge Liang is bright;

Q: "What did the farmer say?"

Answer: "He picked lotus roots in the pool by himself, but there was no response."

Li said to him, "The farmer is right, but it's a pity that he didn't take the first step. He's right:

Lotus roots are picked in the pool, and the roots are too white (plum) and long (Geng).

Hearing this, the official was startled, made a deep salute, said "live up to his reputation" and retreated to one side.

(3) scene pair.

One winter, Li braved the heavy snow and returned to Beijing from Xinjiang. When I stopped at a hotel on the way, I found a pair of couplets on the wall in the store. I read the ink paper. It didn't take long for the second couplet to be written. The first part says:

The yellow dog crossed the frost bridge and a small plum blossom landed;

Li was puzzled and asked the shopkeeper why. The shopkeeper told him that a scholar came to the store for dinner this morning and saw a yellow dog walking on the bridge, so he casually sang a couplet. But he couldn't sing the next couplet after searching for his heart, so he wrote it down and posted it here, expecting someone to make the next couplet. The shopkeeper learned that this was Li Diaoyuan, a gifted scholar in Shu, and said, "Why don't Xianggong show his talents?" Li Xinran agreed. But when he carefully tasted this couplet, he found it extraordinary. He is worried that he can't make a good couple after much consideration. At this time, suddenly a few crows flew in and landed in the snow in front of the door, jumping for food. His heart suddenly brightened up, hurriedly brought pen and ink, and wrote the bottom allied:

Crows are jumping in the snow and bamboo leaves are in the air.

This bottom line, perfectly matched with the top line, won unanimous applause from the hotel.

④ Dialogue between Li and his wife:

The full moon is gone, the full moon is gone, year after year, the sun shines at the end of the night.

Flowers bloom and fall, flowers bloom and fall, summer is summer and autumn is autumn, summer is cool, and spring comes after severe winter.

(5) The plight of shepherd boy Li

According to legend, when Li was studying politics in Guangdong, a shepherd boy built a small bridge with three stones on the way, and Li's bearers kicked the Sanshiqiao down with one foot. The shepherd boy asked the sedan chair bearer, and Li got off the sedan chair to mediate. The shepherd boy said, "Are you Master Li? I heard that you are good at doing the right thing. If you make couplets, please take your seats accordingly. If you are right, kick my bridge. " Li Diaoyuan readily agreed, and the shepherd boy read aloud a way:

Kick through the three stones of Leiqiao

Li thought for a long time, but didn't answer, so he had to make an appointment to deal with it tomorrow. When I got home, I thought hard and was unhappy. The wife asked why, smiled, wrote a word "Chu" on the paper, and then cut it into two words "mountain" with scissors. Li suddenly realized that the next morning he went to the appointed place to see the shepherd boy, and said to the bottom allied cloud:

Cut a mountain with two characters.

The shepherd boy smiled and said, "Li's adult, I'm afraid your wife came up with this couplet?" Li was surprised and asked, "How do you know?" The shepherd boy replied, "Women often deal with scissors with rulers, while men use axes." Why not change the bottom line to "split the way out and make two mountains"? The shepherd boy went on to say, "Master Li, shall I give you another pair?" Say that finish and sing the first part:

China ancients did it, poetry did it, and Fu did it.

Li couldn't answer at the moment. After returning home, he discussed with the people and racked his brains, and finally came up with the bottom allied:

Eight knives are angry, angry and angry.

But when he read the couplet to the shepherd boy, the shepherd boy said, "This is obviously made by a poor scholar. It is not in line with Li's identity to make such a poor appearance." It's better to change it to: "Swallow with a big mouth and swallow the sea", which will have boldness of vision. " !
