How to maintain marble?

(1) Marble is a porous material, so it is easy to dye. Use less water when cleaning. Wipe regularly with a damp cloth containing mild detergent. Then dry it with a clean soft cloth and polish it.

(2) The badly worn marble furniture is difficult to handle. It can be wiped with steel wool and then polished with an electric grinder. Restore its dull luster. Or wipe it carefully with a liquid cleaner. Lemon juice or vinegar can be used to clean stains, but be very careful. Lemon should stay no longer than 1-2 minutes. Don't let the lemon stay there for a long time and be absorbed by the marble. Repeat the operation if necessary. Then wash and dry.

(3) For minor scratches, special marble cleaner and nursing agent can be used. Old or expensive marble furniture should be handled by professionals. Painted marble furniture may need to be treated with paint remover. It should be carried out according to the product instructions, and it may take several layers. After all the paint is removed, wipe it with steel wool and polish it with an electric grinder. Some people disapprove of using this method, but it is effective.

(4) Stains of cosmetics, tea and tobacco can be coated with hydrogen peroxide containing several pieces of ammonia water. Stay for two hours, then wash and dry. For oil stains, you can wipe them with ethanol (alcohol), acetone (wood essence) or lighter oil, and then wash them and dry them.

(5) If marble furniture is splashed by wine and coffee, or burned by cigarette butts, you should consider asking someone to repair it.
