The Chenxi Temple in Yunan Mountain is located on Diaotai Mountain, opposite the Shuangzun Stone. The sixth day of the sixth lunar month is said to be the birthday of "General Tongze", and a temple fair called "Tongze Guanglihou Temple Unveiling and Consecration" was held lively.

Chenxi Temple, also known as Tongze Temple, was once an ancient temple built to commemorate Guang Lihou, the general of Tongze, Yue State in the Spring and Autumn Period. In its heyday, it originally had the Guanyin Hall and the East Prison Hall. There are ninety-nine temple buildings including Tongze Hall, Baoye Hall, Caishen Hall, Kuixing Hall, and Wenchang Pavilion.

According to several elders in Chenxi, the Chenxi Temple once had two theater towers standing side by side, with the Zouma Tower, the Zhongda Hall, the Back Sutra Hall on the four sides, and the Baoye Hall in front. The imperial banner "Protects the Country and Honors the Gods" and the mural "Dragon and Tiger Heroes". The palace is towering and magnificent, and it is also quite famous in Jiangnan. The five-day and night lantern show held every year during the Lantern Festival is even more lively and deeply loved by the people of Yunan Mountain.

The Chenxi Temple was completely demolished during the turmoil of the Cultural Revolution, leaving only a pile of ruins and rubble. No more morning bells and evening drums, no more incense, no more monks and nuns coming and going, no more pilgrims on pilgrimage. It was not until the early 1990s that reconstruction began.

One day in 1993, several old people from Chenxi came to Shangyu Tourism Bureau. At that time, the Shangyu Tourism Bureau had just been established, and it was just an empty frame. The city government had just removed the county and established the city. The office building of the Shangyu Tourism Bureau was just a room on Shengli Road. In addition to the chief and deputy directors, there were three other people: Chen Xueqiang. The individual works there. Because the Shunjie Hotel was preparing to build a star-rated hotel, it moved to the fourth floor of the Shunjie Office Building. Several old people from Chenxi came to the door to build the Chenxi Temple.

Chen Xueqiang warmly received these "fellows" who were eager to build the temple, promised to give them all his help and allowed them to have lunch.

For this approval document to build the Chenxi Temple, Chen Xueqiang, as a Chenxi person, went to countless lengths to "beg grandpa and sue grandma" about Chenxi affairs, and even said jokingly to several bureau chiefs: " I am old and have no job. I will go to see the gate of Chenxi Temple in the future.” If you listen to Chen Xueqiang’s words, I don’t think anyone will be deeply moved by his love for his hometown. Thanks to the strong support of the two far-sighted directors of the year, today's Chenxi Temple, no, the "Tongze Guanglihou Temple" has begun to take shape.

"Building temples in prosperous times", in 1994, several Chenxi elders received the "sword from above" approval document for the construction of Chenxi tourist attractions, and began to build the Chenxi Temple. Today, the palace of "General Tongze" is filled with smoke and incense. Back then, it was just an empty tea mountain outside the wall behind Chenxi Supply and Marketing Cooperative.

I have seen that there are many merit monuments standing in the temple that help to build the temple. The names of the donations from good men and women are densely listed on them. Chen Xueqiang’s name appears many times, each donation is 500 yuan or 1,000 yuan. Thanks to the blessing of "Tongze Guangli Hou Temple", Chen Xueqiang's mind was enlightened and Chen Xueqiang's thoughts were improved.
