Can I only stay at home on May Day? Come here! Beautiful and safe.
Bookstore!
There are screenshots as evidence-
We found several small bookstores in Beijing, Xiamen, Wuhan and Chengdu. These bookstores are not only high-valued, distinctive, but also beautiful and pure, not the place where ordinary online celebrities punch in.
If the "May 1" epidemic prevention and control requirements allow, or the epidemic situation has improved after "May 1", you must go to these "small and beautiful" bookstores. Also welcome those good bookstores worth visiting in the comment area.
Venue:No. 1 Houyuan Ensi Hutong, Dongcheng District, Beijing
Business hours: Monday to Sunday 10: 00 ~ 18: 00.
Nanluoguxiang in Dongcheng, Beijing is often visited by tourists, but Ensi Hutong in Houyuan, which is adjacent to it, is exceptionally quiet. Walking into the hutong, I found an antique quadrangle. Walking into the fan door, you will find a unique world here-a poetry-themed bookstore "Minority Bookstore" is hidden in the yard.
Although the bookstore area is not large, the layout is not crowded, and the bookshelves, tables and chairs are loosely placed. When I entered the bookstore, the first thing I saw was a large book wall with a height of 5.7 meters, on which poems from ancient times to modern times were placed. It has become the symbol of a small bookstore. The rest of the bookshelves and desks are filled with recently published poems, many of which are planned and published by minority bookstores, such as The Good Poems of China, Everyday Poetry Calendar and some books on humanities and social sciences.
"Minority Bookstore is the quietest bookstore in Beijing," Peng Mingbang, the founder of minority bookstore, once said, "I hope it has 20 readers every day. I say this not because I don't welcome more readers, but because I hope all readers will come. "
Peng Mingbang has a good reputation in the domestic bookstore industry. 20 17 in may, 53-year-old Peng mingbang officially resigned from China youth publishing house, where he worked for decades, and established a joint venture company-Beijing Xiao zhong Ji ya culture media co., ltd, which mainly published China's contemporary poems.
He used the way of "front shop and back club" to equip the publishing company with a bookstore, which is a niche bookstore. In this way, the owner of the publishing company is the bookstore owner, and the editor can chat with the author in the bookstore. The minority bookstore has become a "cultural living room"-a place where readers, authors and friends can freely talk about poetry.
What books are on the shelves of independent bookstores reflect the "books" of bookstore owners. Peng Mingbang was an avid poetry reader when he was young. 1986 when he went to Chongqing for graduate study, he only brought two books, one of which was Selected Poems of Ye Saining. However, from then on, Peng Mingbang drifted away from poetry because of his major, until 30 years later, because of the opportunity of planning and publishing poetry collections, he regained his enthusiasm for poetry.
For the selection of books in minority bookstores, Peng Mingbang's standard is "If a book is not sold in the end, am I willing to use it as my own collection?"
The distinctive theme positioning of poetry has made the niche bookstore attract the "real readers" in Peng Mingbang's mind and become a theme bookstore familiar to domestic poetry writers and readers, many of whom come from all over the country. In addition to publishing and selling poems, minority bookstores will also hold various activities around the themes of poetry and literature.
The staff of minority bookstore told China Science News that readers of all ages come here, and there are more and more young people. A young man once told her that he used to read a poem before going to bed every night, close his eyes and feel the feelings conveyed by the poet and fall asleep in a poetic atmosphere.
The niche bookstore is not the only theme bookstore founded by Peng Mingbang. Peng Mingbang claimed to be a "paranoid patient of theme bookstores". At the end of 20 19, Yonghe Bookstore, the first physical bookstore with the theme of signature book in China, was opened.
Yonghe Bookstore is located in the center of Yonghe Palace in Dongcheng District, Beijing. Many books displayed in the store are versions signed by writers, but even the signed books of some famous writers are sold at the original price.
Peng Mingbang said that, like minority bookstores, Yonghe Bookstore is characterized by serving minority readers, who are fans of signature books. "By signing the contract, readers and authors have a closer connection, which also makes paper books more temperature for authors." He said.
Venue: Northwest Lake Greening Square, No.703 Jianshe Avenue, Beihu Street, Jianghan District, Wuhan
Business hours: Monday to Sunday 9:00-2 1:00 (9:00- 17:00 temporarily during the epidemic).
On the grass of Northwest Lake Square in Wuhan, there is a transparent glass house on three sides. This is the location of Bud and Rainbow Bookstore, a natural history bookstore. Founded in 2009, Bader and Rainbow is a well-known independent bookstore in Wuhan.
Affected by the big environment, Bud and Rainbow Bookstore also experienced the same situation as all physical bookstores. The difference is that they persisted after several ups and downs. In 2020, this bookstore will return to people's sight with the theme of natural history.
All along, the theme of "humanities, arts and social sciences" is the portrait of independent bookstores, and there are few bookstores with natural science themes. Ceng Gang, the bookstore manager, told the China Science Journal: "The epidemic has brought us more thoughts." . From the initial "literary" route to the return to "nature" now, one of the important factors is the epidemic situation. The days of isolation at home have made many people have more yearning for being close to nature.
Ceng Gang has been publishing natural science books, hoping to have a space to show his works.
"The first thing to consider is to set up the bookstore in the park and integrate it with the landscape of lakes, grasses and forests. Later, I felt that it was better to be a theme bookstore related to nature from the inside out. " Ceng Gang said.
Comfort is the most direct feeling given by this bookstore. On the day of the interview, a sudden visit by a rainstorm made many people who had been walking in the park come to the bookstore to take shelter from the rain. Unexpected readers, sitting in armchairs, listening to soothing music, singing blackbirds outside the huge floor-to-ceiling window, enjoying this rainy afternoon while reading.
Another "identity" of this bookstore is the city study in Jianghan District, Wuhan. Ceng Gang selected more than 3,000 books on popular science, natural history and plants from Jianghan District Library, and regarded the library as a part of the bookstore. Cross a corridor and you can walk to the exclusive area of the bookstore. There are all kinds of nature books and a wall of gardening tools on the bookshelf, waiting for the selection of natural history lovers.
From the traditional humanities bookstore to the theme bookstore of natural science popularization and natural museum, the mass reading of readers has changed, but Ceng Gang feels that there is much to be done: "To provide a gathering space for interested people, so as to better reflect the value of deep reading." Now, the two best-selling books in the store are Notes on Plants in Wuhan and Illustrated Birds in Wuhan.
The readers of Bud and Rainbow Bookstore are not only office workers nearby, but also natural history lovers. Wu, the nature tutor of Xibeihu Park, is an old friend of the bookstore. In her eyes, this is her second office and study.
"You can find the books you need here without being disturbed, and it is also a place close to nature." She said.
As a bookstore with the theme of museums, various natural science popularization activities are essential. One morning two weeks ago, the park where the bookstore is located organized a parent-child bird watching activity. Bud and Rainbow Bookstore became indoor classes for this activity. "Sitting in the bookstore, it's natural outside the window." Wu Shuo, it is precisely because of the bookstore with the theme of natural history that the combination of knowledge, nature and reality is logical.
Ceng Gang introduced that nature reading club, "Young Bear Broadcasting Class" and other public welfare lectures and courses with the theme of natural history are the trump cards of bookstores.
Some local authors will also come here with new popular science books for sharing. Once, a bird expert passing by Wuhan was invited to share it temporarily.
After the bookstore became the home of "natural history lovers", more and more researchers from botanical gardens, zoos, birdwatching associations and universities joined the circle of friends in the bookstore.
"Foreign natural history bookstores have a long history." Although at present, the road ahead of physical bookstores is not smooth. But Ceng Gang believes that only when some people insist, others will be willing to join. Maybe it won't be long before you can see bookstores with math and physics as their themes.
"I hope that the existence of Bud and Rainbow Bookstore can become the soil of physical bookstores and let more bookstores sprout." He said.

Venue: No.8 Guihua Hutong, Dongcheng District, Beijing
Business hours: every Wednesday to Sunday during the trial operation 13: 00 ~ 16: 00 (you need to make an appointment in the WeChat applet in "Yin Ge Study Room").
There are three trees in the yard of No.8 Guihua Hutong in Dongcheng, Beijing. Two are jujube trees and the other is Broussonetia papyrifera. There are some tables and chairs under the tree. People often sit in chairs and read carefully with a book in their hands. Looking up occasionally, green leaves are swaying in the square sky.
This is the Yin Ge public welfare study founded by Yin Ye, CEO of Huada Group, in March this year. Public welfare research in Yin Ge sells neither books nor coffee. People come here just to study.
The small Hutong Courtyard can only accommodate three reading rooms, but it provides readers with more than 1000 books on natural science and life science for free reading. Yin Ye once said in his official WeChat account "Yin Ge Chats Genes": "This is the venue for the most comprehensive life science books in Beijing!"
The books under study are divided into several categories, such as history of science, life history, animals and plants, genetic science, brain and cognitive science, disease and health, sociobiology, future science and so on. In addition, there is a special reading area for children. Most of these books are popular science books that Yin Ye has read and personally selected.
Yin Ye said that from the very beginning, Yin Ge's public welfare research did not do the research of online celebrities taking photos and punching cards, and the only thing prohibited in the research was using mobile phones for entertainment. What they want to achieve is that everyone who enters the study can have a sense of fulfillment, acquisition and happiness tightly wrapped in books and wisdom. From the trial operation of more than one month, this study has shown such an effect.
Yan Zhi, the person in charge of the study, told the reporter of China Science News that although the number of people in the study was controlled by the appointment system during the epidemic period, not many readers usually came to study, but most readers, whether big friends or children, would seriously insist on reading for about two hours.
The furnishings in the study have also been carefully thought out, full of elements of nature and life science. Walking into the yard, you can see a wooden bird flapping its wings in the wind; The spiral staircase in the yard is like a DNA double helix structure; There are eight letters on the cushions in the reading room, all of which are embroidered by Zhiyan himself. They are abbreviations for eight essential amino acids. The paintings on the wall of the children's reading room are decorated with shells, and the tables are filled with fossils and specimens of animals and plants ... After reading the book, the children's favorite thing is to help Yan Zhi plant flowers and grass in the yard and get in touch with nature.
In addition to the reading room, the study also has an exhibition room. There is not much space, but it is worth seeing. For example, it contains the first real sequencer in China.
Yin Ye once said that the original intention of building libraries and bookstores should be to facilitate readers and meet people's demand for knowledge. Therefore, it is more practical to establish a small library or bookstore and settle in various communities. Yin Ge's public welfare research is making such efforts and attempts.
At present, the study is recruiting volunteers, and Yin Ye and his friends hope that more people can participate in public reading. Zhiyan said that in the future, the research institute will hold online or offline activities from time to time, inviting big coffee in the field of life sciences to share with children. And, of course, Master Yin.
Venue: gangtou, Houxi Town, Xiamen
Business hours: Monday to Sunday from 9: 00 to 19: 00.
Gangtou Village in Houxi Town, Xiamen was once called "Little Hong Kong", but with its decline, it has become a temporary residence for migrant workers. The dirty living environment makes it no different from many villages in the city.
But just six years ago, a small garden building appeared in gangtou, all made of wood. At night, it is shrouded in warm light, especially in the dark villages of the city. It has a very literary name-"Firefly" public library. Today, this library has become a "punch-in" place in Xiamen, and people from all over the country come here.
Yan is the founder and manager of this library, and he has a special identity-the bailiff of Xiamen Intermediate People's Court. His daily task is mainly to escort major criminal suspects to court, and sometimes to participate in the execution of the death penalty.
Yan, who grew up in this village in the city, changed her fate because of reading-going to college and taking an examination of bailiffs. At first, Yan just felt that the environment and atmosphere with books were very important to him. So, after work, he began to teach himself carpentry and built a small study for himself and his family.
At that time, the children in the village would come to this study from time to time to do homework, read books and play with friends. "Can these left-behind children living in marginal areas change their lives because of reading?" Yan began to have a bigger idea to build a library for the children in the village.
With the help of mule, a friend of the designer, the library determined the architectural framework. It is divided into two floors, one is the public welfare activity space, and the other is the library, including a 24-square-meter glass wooden house and a 50-square-meter outdoor natural reading space.
What Yan has built is a rural culture incubation center with the library as the entrance, and it is also a platform for urban residents to communicate with the countryside. In addition to children having books to read, adults can also participate in various artistic activities organized by the platform. Adults and children have their own places to go and learn from each other.
Over the past six years, donations from various libraries and all walks of life in Xiamen and some new book subscription activities have enabled this library to have 89,000 books.
The library also recruits children who go to school in the village to become mobile curators, who are responsible for health work, sorting out books and organizing activities ... With the financial support of enterprises, they can also receive a fixed "salary" every month. At the weekend, many volunteers from nearby primary and secondary schools and universities joined the team of librarians.
Now, this library is not only a simple reading space, but also volunteers from all over the world bring children a series of colorful courses such as Chinese studies, calligraphy, yoga and summer camp for judges.
Just this year, the library has a new curator who graduated from Tsinghua University. She is Kan Mei, the champion of liberal arts in the 2008 college entrance examination in Gansu Province. The children are very interested in this "schoolmaster" and often drag her to read and tell stories.
Since she joined the library full-time, she has encouraged children to publish blackboard newspapers, write wish lists and share "learning tips" with them. Kan Mei, who is at the turning point of her career, has a unique life experience because of such a job.
The library has become the cultural center of gangtou. Under its radiation, a series of cultural and creative spaces such as Guqin Hall, Hanfu Experience Hall, Ceramic Art Hall, Gaomei School and Chuxin Academy have gradually formed, and cultural activities such as gangtou Culture and Art Festival have also been derived.

Venue: No.300, Yifu Road, chenghua district, Chengdu, Sichuan.
Business hours: Monday to Wednesday 10: 00 ~ 18: 00 Friday to Sunday 10: 00 ~ 2 1: 00.
In an old community in Ximen, Chengdu, there is an old bookstore with the size of 100 square meter. Fu, the manager of the bookstore, is a book lover. 1992 started collecting books, and 1998 founded an old bookstore called "Maobian Bookstore".
From 2065438 to 2008, Fu made an important decision: he signed a contract with Fuqing Road Street (formerly Taoxi Road Street) in chenghua district, Chengdu, and reached the project of "Maobian Bookstore Taoxi Academy". The campus is provided by the street office, and the raw edge bookstore provides books and professional experience, which are jointly managed by both parties.
The bookstore has become bigger, with some changes, richer content and more book lovers, but Fu's initial intention has never changed.
In today's bright bookstores with an area of over 65,438+0,000 square meters and a collection of more than/kloc-0,000 volumes, various new books are sometimes downloaded. Of course, old books are still an indispensable part. Fu compared old books to old friends. Only by revisiting old books can we learn new things.
At three o'clock in the morning when he was interviewed by China Science News, Fu also went to the second-hand book market and harvested three bags of books.
In the process of collecting books, there are joys and sorrows, achievements and helplessness. At the end of last year, Fu found a batch of documents at the book fair, mostly working manuscripts and notes, which recorded the import and export of Sichuan tea in the last century, as well as precious tea-making handouts and teaching materials. The information of two hand-pulled boxes cost more than 10 thousand yuan. But after returning home, it is worthwhile to tidy up carefully.
It was also during that time that Fu met a bookseller who sold the materials of Chengdu Cooking magazine. Sharp-eyed Fu found photos of the Sichuan cuisine chef competition in the 1950s in a woven bag full of 1990s magazines. Although they are all one or two inch photos, they have no photographic artistic value, but the contents displayed are precious.
The other party asked for 40 thousand yuan as soon as he opened his mouth. After several rounds of bargaining, no deal was reached. Disembarking, after Fu left, this batch of materials was bought by another person.
Speaking of this, Fu regretted it. "It's not that it has a high appreciation space, but it's a pity for the theme exhibition of Sichuan cuisine in the academy, and the research on the history of Sichuan cuisine is also a loss." However, he knows that there are bumps in the process of collecting books. "I want to learn to wait, be more patient and learn more about books."
In addition to continuing to do a good job in the second-hand book business, Fu still has some insistence on Taoxi College of Maobian Bookstore. For example, we will not engage in commercial activities unrelated to books, nor will we create so-called online celebrities.
The 25-year-old "birthday" is coming, and the marginal bookstores coming out of the old community are also changing.
Nowadays, books, as a medium, carry more functions. Fu introduced that Taoxi Academy of Maobian Bookstore highlights four functions: speaking, learning, asking and researching, creating reading space, aesthetic education space and research space, and carrying out lectures, exhibitions, painting and calligraphy classes, tea art or floral life aesthetic experience classes, thread-bound book experience and other activities.
"This is not just a book business, but a book as a medium. Through some' talking' theme activities, let local culture come alive, dig out the cultural treasures in these old paper piles and pass them on. "
He thinks that being a bookstore should also shoulder some responsibilities. "One is to provide a comfortable space for everyone, not only a venue, but also a spiritual field of self-enjoyment. At the same time, it provides services to enrich the lives and hearts of more people.
Fu Shuo, at present, Maobian calligraphy is still the characteristic business of the academy. Although it is not the mainstream, it shows a rare interest in reading, guiding readers to slow down their life and fall in love with reading. "I hope everyone will feel the lifestyle and attitude conveyed and advocated by our bookstore when reading the book" Raw Edge "."
