Early childhood education is developing vigorously. There are 55 public kindergartens, 39 private kindergartens and 5 184 children in the county. The joint school of Jiaoling Normal University and TV University adheres to the school-running philosophy of "quality first, efficiency first", and offers 8 specialties such as Chinese language and literature and computer, and 7 undergraduate majors such as law and English education, with 983 students participating in academic education. The educational level of RTVU is among the best in the whole province.
At the end of 1997, the county was identified by the provincial education department as one of the pilot counties for implementing quality education.
