Datong Wutaishan Taiyuan Travel Guide (Five Days)
Take the train from Xi'an to Datong with my friends at 11 o'clock, planning to visit some of the more famous scenic spots from north to south in Datong, Shanxi. In Datong, Yungang Grottoes is a national 5A tourist attraction, which is the focus of our trip to Datong.
We took train 2672 and arrived at Datong Railway Station in the afternoon. Although the temperature is very low, the sun is shining directly on us and we feel that our skin is directly exposed to the sun. It is recommended that everyone bring a parasol.
Due to fatigue from the journey, I planned to find a hotel near the train station and check in directly. But I couldn't find a suitable hotel, so I moved on and found a hotel on Xima Road in front of the train station (about 10 minutes away from the train station) - New Taipei City Hotel. Although the decoration on the outside is not outstanding, the facilities inside are still good. Very good, service and safety are guaranteed, standard room is 100 yuan per night. Everything feels good inside.
After the rest, we started to do the most important thing - filling our stomachs. We walked along Zhanqian Street West Road and then to Playchangcheng Street. There are many very regular restaurants and snack bars on the roadside, which are of good quality and low price. Dabei Street Daxi Street Dadong Street is the most prosperous business district in Datong. Since you come to the city center, it is an indispensable place, especially Daxi Street. Daxi Street is full of large shopping malls, specialty stores, and shopping malls. Pharmacies, etc., and Hongqi Plaza is also on Daxi Street. We walked all the way, because there was a great sense of freshness. We were admiring it all the way, immersed in curiosity, and we didn't feel tired. It was almost 11 o'clock in the evening when we returned to the hotel after shopping. Datong is different from Xi'an. The city center of Xi'an is still very busy at 23 o'clock. Datong is much cleaner at night because we live in the city center and there are still many cars on the way back. . The night view of Datong is beautiful and quiet. However, it is really cold in Datong at night, and it feels like it has dropped below 5 degrees, so everyone must bring enough clothes to keep warm.
Early the next morning, we said goodbye to the front desk staff of the hotel, and inquired in advance about the route and transportation methods to Yungang Grottoes. There are many opinions on the Internet, but they are quite misleading. , the so-called 3-2 has long since disappeared. The correct route should be to take bus No. 4 to Xinkaili and transfer to bus No. 3 to reach the terminal Yungang Grottoes. It feels that the journey is not far away. After arriving at the grottoes, Go down and you will come to the ticket office. The student ticket is half price 50 yuan (the ticket price has dropped during the construction period of the grotto, the normal ticket price is 130 yuan). After getting the ticket, you can enter the park directly. I think there is no need to take a sightseeing bus because the park is not big. According to the order on the back of the ticket, you can focus on visiting the grottoes according to the introduction online or in the book. Pay attention to the introduction and precautions in front of the entrance of some grottoes (whether you can take photos, etc.).
In about 3 hours, we completed the tour. When we left the park, we visited the Lingyan Temple of the Yungang Grottoes and a store specializing in selling souvenirs and snacks. There are kinds of cakes, divided into peanut and The ones with melon seeds cost 5 yuan a pack. The ones we bought were made with peanuts, and they tasted just like Xu Fuji’s crispy candies. At about 3 o'clock in the afternoon, we left the park. There were some snack vendors outside the door. Because we were extremely hungry, we bought skewers of meat and ham sausages for 3 yuan each. The result was very bad. The food was quite unpalatable. It is clean. It is recommended that you bring some food and water before going to the scenic spot.
At the entrance of the scenic spot, take bus No. 3 as before, then reverse bus No. 4 to Oriental Sliced ??Noodles to taste Datong’s specialties. We originally planned to take a long-distance bus to Mount Wutai at 4 o'clock, but we didn't expect that there was an error on the Internet. The last bus was not at 4 o'clock, so we had to stay in Datong for another night, but the hotels in the center of Datong were already overcrowded, so we had to find a hotel. It was difficult. In the end, after some struggle, we chose to stay in the New Taipei City Hotel, but found that there were only ordinary rooms for 50 yuan a night. Since the plan was wrong, we should also bear the consequences. It was okay, although the environment was worse than the standard room. It's far from the best, but the price is low and it's relatively clean, so it's not bad.
I checked the departure time from Datong to Wutaishan at the hotel in the evening. The first bus is at 7:30 in the morning, the other is at 9:30, usually 1:30 in the afternoon, and the latest bus is at 2:00. The last bus at Datong Long-distance Bus Station was at 9:30, but it was already past 10:00 when we arrived. We couldn't pay attention to the night anymore. It was too time-consuming, so we asked the bus station staff what we should do, but the bus station The plan given by the staff was risky. Let us buy tickets from Datong to Fanzhi County and then see if we can meet the bus from Fanzhi to Wutaishan on the road, and then transfer. Not to mention the money is spent. , and we are very likely to miss the time and spend an extra night in Fanzhi County, which we don't want to see. So we thought of other ways. I remembered that I had written down the contact information of many drivers when planning this trip at school, so I tried to call them one by one, and then I contacted a person from Xinnan Bus Terminal. Driver, their last bus was at 2 p.m., so we quickly took bus No. 11 at the entrance of Datong Long-distance Bus Station to the terminal Xinnan Passenger Terminal, and bought two tickets to Mount Wutai Scenic Area for 66 yuan per person. We thought that there might not be a bank near Mount Wutai, let alone an ATM (it turned out that our worries were unnecessary; there are two banks in Mount Wutai), so we withdrew some money from an ATM in front of a residential area about half an hour away from the station. We will set off by car at two o'clock.
There were very few people on this tour bus. Maybe it was because it was already late and I could only wait until the next day to go up the mountain. It was a four-hour drive and the scenery along the way was very spectacular. I saw The majesty and mountains and rivers of the motherland are so beautiful. During the climb up the mountain, most people will experience tinnitus due to changes in internal and external pressure, just like the feeling when taking off and landing. It is recommended that you bring chewing gum. After purchasing the tickets (full ticket 168+50 yuan), the bus will take everyone to Taihuai Town, a tourist attraction. Wutai Mountain is located in that town. As soon as we got off the bus, we were surrounded by the owners of the small hotel. After being surrounded by the prominence, we chose I stayed at a hotel with a lot of tourists in the courtyard. It was okay, very cheap and I could take a bath for 50 yuan a night. That night we walked around Taihuai Town, where there were more snacks and the prices were acceptable to everyone, unlike other scenic spots where food and water are very expensive. Buddhist tunes resounded everywhere, and many monks came down the mountain to buy things. There are more tourists in the evening and the weather is very cold. It is recommended that you put on more clothes before going out at night. After a brief meal at the hotel, I found that the town has everything, including Internet cafes. I also found that it is completely different from our town in Xi'an. Same. After going back in the evening, we carefully studied the various scenic spots in Mount Wutai and tried to visit our favorite scenic spots in the shortest possible time.
The next day, the temple opened at seven o'clock. We rushed to various attractions early in the morning and took the free sightseeing bus. We chose to travel from the bottom of the mountain to the top of the mountain. Shuxiang Temple Wuye Temple is the two most popular temples on the mountain. Of course we will not miss it. We chose these two temples first. We did not buy the incense sold at the stalls outside the temple. We planned to burn incense when we came back, so we went into the temple to have a look. .
The second stop is Nanshan Temple. There is a Nanshan Bridge at the stop. The scenery is very beautiful. Along the road, you can see a gravel road that must be passed. The scenery there is very beautiful from a distance and very beautiful up close. Very refined. Turn right along the exit and you will lead to Nanshan Temple, but everyone should pay attention to it. It will be much closer if you take the pedestrian path and you will avoid some women selling incense. However, we did not go where pedestrians walked but followed the route of cars. As a result, the journey was very long and we met someone selling incense. In desperation, we bought two packs of 6 pieces each, which was a *** 15 yuan, okay, the price is acceptable to us. In Nanshan Temple, we saw the Main Hall but did not pay our respects. We planned to skip going to Wuye Temple. After that, we went to the Guanyin Cave not far away. The entrance fee was five yuan. The spring water there was said to be very good. We brought a few bottles up to collect the water. In order to save water, two resident monks were arranged there. They were very kind. It will embarrass tourists.
There are also some temples that I won’t introduce one by one. You will understand them after you go there.
At four o'clock in the afternoon, we were going to take the train to Taiyuan. Of course, there are buses going directly to Taiyuan from Mount Wutai, but we wanted to experience the train in the province (the price is a bit more). If you don't want to experience it, you must take the bus, because from Mount Wutai to The bus at Shahe Railway Station is very exciting. There are definitely no seats on the train. We bought k603 to Taiyuan, and there was almost no place to stand. It was really a tragedy. It was four o'clock in the morning when we arrived in Taiyuan. We were tired from the journey and checked directly into a Hongdian Express Hotel near the train station. It was a midnight room for 90 yuan. We checked out before twelve o'clock. We walked along the road in front of the station and came to Wuyi Square. We found a relatively formal-looking Mandarin guesthouse in the nearby bustling area and stayed there (standard rooms cost 100 yuan a night). In the evening we went to the city center to go to Causeway Bay. We went shopping in Xi'an's Mule and Horse Market, Mouse Street, etc. The next day, we went to Yingze Park and Jinci Temple. In the evening, I met up with my classmates and took train 2669 to leave Taiyuan and go to Xi'an.
The six-day tour is over.
