Does a child need an ID to stay with an adult in a hotel?

Children do not need documents to stay in hotels.

Under normal circumstances, parents stay with their children. When hotel operators accept minors to check in, they must check the identity of the minors and truthfully register and submit relevant information; they must ask for the contact information of the minors’ parents or other guardians and record them for future reference; they must ask about the identities and relationships of the people living with them , and recorded for future reference;

Safety inspections and visitor management must be strengthened to prevent illegal infringement of minors; suspicious situations must be reported immediately to the public security organs, and parents or other guardians of minors must be contacted in a timely manner. Legal Basis

Article 6 of the "Hotel Industry Public Security Management Measures" stipulates that hotels must register for accommodation of tourists. When registering, the passenger's identity document shall be checked and the passenger's identity document shall be truthfully registered according to the prescribed items.

Article 56 of the "Public Security Administration Punishment Law of the People's Republic of China"

If a staff member of the hotel industry knowingly knows that the guest staying is a criminal suspect or a person wanted by the public security organ and fails to report it to the public security organ, he shall be fined not more than 200 yuan but not more than 500 yuan; if the circumstances are serious, he shall be detained for not more than five days, and may and be fined not more than 500 yuan.
