Wumao Tulin Scenic Area is located in Luoxing Village Committee, Wumao Township, Yuanmou County, Yunnan Province, 36 kilometers away from the county seat, also known as Hutiaotan Tulin. The total area is 8 square kilometers, and the altitude is 1050- 1200m. As a national AAAA tourist attraction, tickets and sightseeing tickets are a bit expensive in 80 yuan.

I didn't do my homework before I came, and I don't know what the soil forest is like. In addition, it was already noon, and the hot weather made people dizzy, which somewhat reduced my interest in sightseeing.

After entering the scenic spot, take a 5-minute sightseeing drive to the observation deck set up in the scenic spot. I was attracted by the geological beauty of this soil forest, which is as vibrant as a large virgin forest. I instantly forgot my discomfort and walked along the route indicated by the staff under the scorching sun. Along the way, the huge and diverse artistic sculptures and exquisite murals were dizzying, which made me excited about studying geology.

What develops here is a set of river gravel layer, sand layer and clay layer. The different composition and structure make it have different weathering resistance and leaching ability, which leads to different erosion degree and forms the present geological landform. Most shapes are castles, screens, curtains and cylinders. The height of soil columns varies, with a general height of 5-15m and a maximum height of 42.8m..

In my impression, the Quaternary strata are desert and loess. Never thought, here, nature's uncanny workmanship could carve the Quaternary strata into strange sand sculptures and strange and confusing geological landforms, presenting a spectacular and charming art hall composed of exquisite handicrafts and murals for human beings. Shocking!
