Xie Yuyao's experience

The image of Mr. Xie Yuyao is not bad. He is a little tall, with a rectangular face, long hair that seems to be permed, and a beautiful beard, which is a bit of an artist's style.

Mr. Xie Yuyao is an artist, but he has never received a formal art education. His artistic life is completely based on his extraordinary artistic talent and persistent pursuit of art, as well as his self-study and self-study with amazing perseverance. Xie Yuyao was born in a remote mountain village in Shijing Township, Loudi City, Hunan Province. There are eight brothers and sisters in his family, ranking seventh. 1967 In August, my father, who was burdened with a heavy family burden, finally collapsed silently, when he was only 9 years old. The children of the poor family took charge early, and he became attached to suffering prematurely when he lost his father in childhood. When he was studying in primary school and middle school, he had to herd cattle, collect junk and collect wild manure for the production team in exchange for work points and supplement his family. As a small labor force, such a hard and bumpy life experience has tempered his indomitable will and indomitable spirit.

Xie Yuyao's second brother is a painter from a peasant background. In the past, rural painters not only painted the furniture of their owners, but also designed some paintings such as flowers, birds, insects and fish on the furniture. With painting skills, you can earn food, pay money and work more easily, which touched the young Yuyao. Brother Xie Yuyao's painting skills are also good. Influenced by his second brother, Xiao Yuyao became fascinated with painting in his teens. At that time, due to too many family members, the local economy was restricted by many conditions and developed quite slowly. Xie's family is very poor. Xiao Yuyao has very limited conditions for practicing painting. There was no drawing paper at home, so he picked up some monochrome waste paper and drew carefully. Sometimes a piece of waste paper draws small animals first, then big animals, and repeats it several times. In his spare time, such as herding cattle and collecting wild manure, he takes branches as a pen and enjoys painting landscapes, flowers and birds in his hometown on the open ground. In the past few years, Xiao Yuyao's painting skills even surpassed his second brother as a painter. The birds he painted are lifelike. The flowers he painted are delicate and charming, vivid and fragrant. Therefore, many folks who need to paint furniture often ask Xiao Yuyao to paint their furniture when they ask his second brother to make handicrafts.

/kloc-at the age of 0/7, Xie Yuyao was drafted into the army. In the army, his painting skills found a place to use, and the company arranged for him to do paperwork. He tidied up the company's blackboard newspaper with pictures and texts, which was brilliant. As a result, he also had the opportunity to communicate with the outside world. By communicating with some comrades who love art, he has read many books on art, and his painting skills are more exquisite and his horizons are broadened.

1982 65438+In February, Xie Yuyao returned to his hometown where he was born and raised after serving three years of military service. However, introverted, he never liked begging for work everywhere, so he had to find a manual job in a construction unit. During the day, he has to pick soil, carry bricks and hit stones. At the end of the day, he is often so tired that his limbs ache and his bones seem to be falling apart. But at night, he still likes to plunge into his painting art. He loves his painting so much that he thinks, "This is by no means a long-term solution. I must go out from my painting art. "With determination and direction, people have motivation. However, what kind of road is suitable for you? At that time, in the countryside, people liked to send mirror screens to their relatives and friends for their birthdays, get up and move to a new house, etc. to increase their happiness. Xie Yuyao thought, "Why don't I open a painting shop like this?" After many twists and turns, with the support of relatives and friends, Xie Yuyao finally rented a facade in a busy street in Wanbao Town, Loudi, and got a long-standing backlog of ground glass on credit from an acquaintance. 1985, his handicraft shop finally officially opened.

With excellent technology and honest business philosophy, Xie Yuyao's handicraft shop quickly flourished. On the one hand, the exquisite painting and calligraphy screens he created by himself, such as "Dragon Wind Becomes Lucky", "Songhe prolongs the year" and "Happiness from now on", immediately became the new favorites of the surrounding villagers. As gifts for relatives and friends, they also brought Xie Yuyao considerable economic income. Since then, he has a happy road of his own, which can concentrate on painting and settle down.

Xie Yuyao's first bucket of gold was a brilliant success, which made him more confident and bold. A year later, he decided to go out of the town and enter the city for development. Subsequently, he transferred the handicraft shop to others and opened a bigger decoration company from the new city. At that time, the decoration industry in Loudi was still in its infancy, and the business was very good. If it weren't for his later changes, Xie Yuyao could really be called a veritable leader in Loudi decoration. After just one or two years of development, Xie Yuyao's decoration company is like Zhongtian, and its business is constantly flowing, bringing rolling financial resources to his life journey. He is like a duck to water, even more enthusiastic. 1992, he spent hundreds of thousands to open another high-end hotel next to Loudi East New Market. 1994, in view of Xie Yuyao's extraordinary management ability, the former leader of Loudi Coal Bureau finally transferred him to the bureau through recruitment and was appointed as the manager of the labor service company of the Coal Bureau. Thanks to the leadership's attention to him, Xie Yuyao has grown from a farmer who loves painting to a state-owned enterprise cadre who eats imperial grain. Xie Yuyao didn't live up to the expectations of the leaders and made the enterprise prosperous. One year later, due to his outstanding work performance, he was named one of the top ten advanced representatives of Loudi enterprises by 1995.

However, life always plays tricks on people. With the rise of the wave of reform and opening up and the further development of the market economy, the competition among all walks of life has also intensified. Xie Yuyao's decoration company gradually lost money, and soon, the labor service company of his coal bureau also declared bankruptcy. In the face of this sudden change, Xie Yuyao really felt at a loss at that time. At that time, he was already the father of three children. Years ago, he spent a lot of money to buy a house in the city, and his family's economy was simply overwhelmed. Forced to do nothing, he had to work in Guangdong. In a decoration company in Guangdong, at first a boss appreciated his painting ability very much. Later, I saw that he was nearly forty years old and slightly fat. I thought he had come to "steal classics and learn art", so I politely declined. Later, he found several companies, but he was too old to do it. Xie Yuyao had to return to Loudi, his hometown where he was born and raised, with great loss and regret. Idle, he often feels a lot of pressure in life, but who can guarantee that it will be the same for a thousand days and that people will be good for a thousand days?

The bright spot of life is always in casual discovery and deep exploration. Xie Yuyao, who was idle at home, once went to an electrical appliance store to repair the TV set. Inadvertently, he suddenly found that the master of the repair shop put an electric soldering iron on a wooden mat and burned a lot of patterns. The design looks like a galloping horse on the grassland and a white sail on the lake, which is reminiscent. Xie Yuyao's heart suddenly moved, and he was very happy. "Isn't this the pyrography in China art garden? Planting flowers and flowers is really intentional, but I don't want to plant willows. Can I paint with an electric soldering iron and carry forward this wonderful art that has existed in China since ancient times? " While still in the repair shop, Xie Yuyao began to ponder over pyrography.

Because of her love of fine arts, Xie Yuyao knew very early that there was a traditional folk craft painting called "Fire Needle Embroidery" in the early years of the Western Han Dynasty in China. At that time, people liked to use red-hot wire to iron out various patterns on boards, barks, gourds and bamboo blocks for decoration, so people often called this process "ironing art". This ironing art, originally pyrography, was later pyrography, which was an extremely precious and rare painting in ancient China. The pictures of ironing works are natural. With its unique artistic form, ingenious expression and uneven texture changes, it has a certain relief effect and has become a wonderful flower in the art world. Its colors are dark, light brown and even black, which is unique. The works have the characteristics of no resurgence, no discoloration, no wrinkling and no mildew, and are deeply loved by the public. It was very popular in the Eastern Han Dynasty, but it was once lost due to years of famine and war. In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, an old monk in Siming Mountain, Zhejiang Province often painted on paper with incense, which was called "incense painting", which was a leap to develop the ancient ironing art into paper. In the third year of Guangxu, a folk artist named Zhao Xing rediscovered and sorted it out, thus developing this ancient craft that was only circulated among the people. In modern times, several schools represented by Henan, Hebei, Suzhou and Tianjin gradually formed. Some people called it "fire painting" in Qing Dynasty, but it is often called "hot painting" or "pyrography" in modern times. But Xie Yuyao has only heard his name, but he has no chance to learn from his teacher. He was deeply touched by the occasional enlightenment today. Xie Yuyao repaired the TV set, moved, ran to the street without stopping, bought an electric soldering iron and a splint, and began to do experiments on the splint. Using a soldering iron as a pen looks simple, but the actual operation is not that simple. In the past, the art of ironing was to burn red iron on wooden boards and bamboo blocks, but it was easy to cool when it was hot, and the firepower was not great. But today, the high temperature of soldering iron can reach several hundred degrees: if the force is too large or too small, the ideal effect will not be achieved, and it will be burned into "ink spots" if it is not careful.

Pyrography doesn't need any pigment. An investigation of a pyrography artist's pyrography skills mainly depends on his mastery of the collocation and transition of dark and light colors. Pyrography should not be modified, especially painting on silk and rice paper, which pays special attention to one success, so it is difficult. A successful pyrography requires smooth lines, uniform coloring, reasonable transition colors and clear shades. In order to brand symmetrical lines, Xie Yuyao branded dozens of splints. Rome was not built slowly in a day. Xie Yuyao finally mastered the basic techniques of pyrography and began to brand it a bit like a mountain shadow, but was it a painting? Not yet. What Xie Yuyao needs is to March in the direction of branding a complete painting. But after all, with initial success, Xie Yuyao is confident and ambitious.

But as a family of five, the economic situation is a little stretched from time to time. Xie Yuyao's "doing nothing" makes his wife, who is exhausted by the burden of family, often complain: "I am an old man, and I don't think much about making money to support my family. What can I brand on this broken board every day? " Many relatives and friends also began to echo their wives and expressed strong opposition. In the face of dissatisfaction and complaints from relatives and friends, Xie Yuyao can only endure silently, but he will never give in. He is a stubborn man and will never give up his pursuit because of the interference and difficulties of external factors. In order to meditate on pyrography, he built a simple attic on his roof and moved the wood blocks that could pyrography into the attic. No matter whether the weather is cold or hot, he stays in it all day and revels in his pyrography world. In summer, he sweated, and in winter, his hands and feet were numb with cold. In order to save the cost of learning pyrography, he sold the burnt splint to a repair shop at a low price, and then changed some new materials. Later, he thought it was very troublesome to move around, so he thought about it again, bought some fir boards, branded them once, planed them with a plane, and then continued to brand them, painted them and used them many times.

Xie Yuyao's obsession with pyrography is simply obsessed. One night in the summer of 2000, Xie Yuyao, who had been playing plywood for more than ten hours, was unconsciously tired. He forgot to turn off the switch on the soldering iron and fell asleep on the workbench. The electric soldering iron was left on the board for a long time, and it slowly caused a fire. When the smoke filled the air, Xie Yuyao woke up from his sleep. It's too late. He's too scared to worry. By the time the fire was put out, Xie Yuyao was "unrecognizable" and her hair and beard were burned a lot.

Many things happen. Xie Yuyao finally branded his first painting on the board. He is very happy. He sang the songs of his hometown alone in the attic. But art is endless, so he began to paint on plywood, silk and paper. After years of hard work, his pyrography skills have become more and more exquisite, reaching the point of arbitrary. 200 1 A friend named Long bought a spacious house. After the overall renovation, my friend Long always felt that something was missing, so he decided to go to the provincial capital to find a famous painter to buy a painting to hang in the living room. Xie Yuyao, who has always been low-key, volunteered: "Let me take a photo for you." Yuyao, Xie Xin, said that he could pyrography. Longyou was greatly surprised and said, "You can pyrography? Please brand one. " Xie Yuyao took the order, thought hard for two days, and made a composition specially. A week later, a Shan Jutu with a width of1.2m and a length of 2.44m was made under his soldering iron. I saw bridges, pavilions, flowers and birds on the screen, and he succeeded. Longyou were dumbfounded when they saw this painting being "burned" by an electric soldering iron. They immediately hung it in the lobby of a hotel in Guanjiaao, which attracted many people from all walks of life to watch and the business was booming. Happy, Longyou personally went to Xie Yuyao's house and paid 800 yuan cash as a reward.

Since then, the reputation of pyrography wizard Xie Yuyao has spread slowly in Loudi. Subsequently, exquisite pyrography works came into being. His horse, his shrimp, his tiger, and his landscape went out of the attic, into the homes of many known and unknown friends, and into the hands of some collectors. Not long after, reporters from Loudi Daily, Loudi Radio and Television News and Loudi TV Station came, and Xie Yuyao's pyrography was on fire. Then, reporters from Hunan Daily, Hunan Workers Daily, Science and Technology Herald, Hunan Economic TV Station, Wenyiyuan and Art Newspaper came, and his works went out of the trough again. In 2002, Xie Yuyao completed the full-page reproduction of Zhang Zeduan's masterpiece The Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival, which was highly praised by many art experts and critics. His burnt portrait of Qi Baishi was also collected by the Qi Baishi Memorial Hall in Xiangtan City, and his grandson Quanping gladly wrote an inscription for it: "Creating an Art Pioneer". At the end of the year, he successfully held his first solo exhibition. On October 8, 2006, Loudi Municipal People's Government held an exhibition of pyrography works specially for him, and then his pyrography art was included in the intangible cultural heritage and reported to Hunan Provincial People's Government. In the spring of the same year, China International Business Daily invited him to hold a pyrography exhibition in Beijing International Trade Building. A large number of Xie Yuyao's paintings have been collected by international friends such as the United States, Germany, Britain, France and collectors inside and outside the province, and have gone abroad.

Although the origin of pyrography in China is very early, its artistic level did not develop greatly until modern times. Most of the works are only recent works with low artistic taste, and most of them are still in the stage of traditional meticulous realism. Xie Yuyao's works, because of the tenacious practice of solid basic skills and the experience of early painting art, have absorbed the skills of painting art and the use of fire pen, which is naturally extraordinary. Most of his works are created according to personal thoughts and intentions, with personal artistic characteristics and style. His works are both magnificent and impressive, with a deep style of delicate expression. For example, Liujia, Qiaoliushui, Home, etc. There are delicate expressions, beautiful lines and strong life breath, which even ordinary pen and ink painters can't compare with: the orchid surrounded by mountains and fog has a natural charm, and its vision and close-up are full of superhuman spirit, giving people a natural artistic conception of climbing high and looking far; "Roots", with well-developed roots, have profound meanings and are full of vigor and vitality. Mountain-shaped waters such as rivers, heaven and earth, crossings and Hengsong Waterfalls are extremely natural and wonderful.

Xie Yuyao's works have a wide range of themes, including landscapes, flowers and birds, figures, horses, cows, fish and shrimp. His style is both artistic and meaningful, skeptical and illusory, paying attention to realism and expressiveness, and drifting away from the issues of art and meaning. His brushwork is also very smooth, such as flowing water, strange and changeable, and the meaning is clear. Its artistic conception is profound and moving, full of vitality and natural charm. Some art critics commented: "Xie Yuyao's pyrography is not only beautiful, but also durable." Good-looking means that the landscape in the painting is full of vitality, pastoral interest and rich flavor of life. Pyrography itself has a unique color, which makes the picture look old and heavy, free and elegant, beautiful and elegant; Good-looking means that its brand technology can withstand careful scrutiny and pondering.

In branding, Xie Yuyao boldly combined Chinese and western painting techniques, which not only made the techniques unrestrained, but also made the whole picture smooth and delicate. In particular, he used the temperature change of the stylus to express the complex and changeable nature of reality, yin and darkness, which not only showed the smooth and beautiful lines of Chinese painting, but also showed the relationship between light and shade of western painting, with distinct levels and strong three-dimensional sense. He also adopted the fashionable pyrography method to make his works more decorative and artistic. Zhang Shaowu, the executive editor of the Editorial Board of China's Picture Book Series, praised him for being "branded by God"; Wang, editor-in-chief of Contemporary Art, praised it as "a wonderful art garden, pyrography": Yan, chairman of China Collectors Association, praised its art as a kind of "drunken art", gave a thumbs-up and said that he was "a must in Hunan" and said "the floor is not big, but I don't want such an artist." I encouraged him to say, "it's hard to make art, and you are still young." You should continue to work hard to carry forward this ancient traditional craft of China. We must support the culture of China, otherwise it will be a loss. " In 2002, Fu, a hundred-year-old famous calligrapher, appreciated his pyrography very much and happily wrote "Jingyizhai" for his studio.

For this reason, Xie Yuyao has the nickname "pyrography geek".
