If you are under eighteen, you can stay in a hotel.

Legal analysis: under the age of 18, you can book a hotel with your ID card. There are no laws and regulations in China that prohibit minors under the age of 18 from staying in hotels. As long as you show your ID card and other valid documents when you check into the hotel, you can do it without violating other regulations of the hotel industry. Minors who are under the age of 18 but must be over the age of 16, who hold their second-generation ID cards and can live independently, can stay in the hotel alone after strict examination by the hotel.

In China, minors refer to citizens under the age of 18; In other countries, the age range of minors is not completely different.

According to the Measures for the Administration of Public Security in Hotel Industry:

Article 6 A hotel must register for receiving passengers' accommodation. At the time of registration, the passenger's identity documents shall be checked and truthfully registered according to the prescribed items.

To receive accommodation from overseas tourists, an accommodation registration form shall also be submitted to the local public security organ within 24 hours.

The relevant regulations in each region are different, but you must bring your ID card. For example, "Regulations on the Management of Real-name Registration of Passenger Accommodation in Hunan Hotel Industry":

Article 3 Hotels shall, in accordance with the requirements of "one home, one machine", independently select suppliers to purchase second-generation ID card reading equipment, install and apply the front desk system, and strictly implement the relevant provisions on real-name registration.

Article 4 When a passenger goes through the check-in formalities, the hotel shall check the documents one by one according to the requirements of "one person, one card, one person's card", and after confirming that the people's cards match, collect and upload the information of the passenger's name, gender, nationality, address, type and number of identity documents, check-in time, room number and so on by using the front desk system. When the passenger checks out, the hotel shall collect and upload the check-out information of the passenger in time.

Article 5 When the hotel receives group tourists and conference tourists, it can check and collect all the valid identity documents of the passengers together with the tour leader and conference organizer, and centrally register their real names.

Article 6 Passengers shall present their valid identity documents, truthfully declare them, and consciously cooperate with the hotel to register their real names. Passengers who fail to register their real names as required are not allowed to stay in the hotel.

/kloc-minors aged 0/5 cannot book hotels separately.

/kloc-minors under the age of 0/6 are not allowed to stay in the hotel alone. For Chinese mainland residents, they need a certificate that can prove their identity information and a photo of their heads. Foreigners should register with their passports.

However, if minors book hotels separately and stay outside, they still need to pay attention to safety, and it is best to be accompanied by adults.
