Why are towels called satin towels?

Do you mean jacquard, satin and velvet cutting?

Jacquard: using yarns of different colors or raw materials on jacquard machine to directly weave towels with various patterns;

Satin block: weave a satin strip at both ends of the towel near the terry of plain cloth, or weave a wide satin edge at one end, which is generally called "platinum satin". The jacquard part can be formed by long warp floats or long weft floats. Clear patterns and logo can be embroidered on the cross section, which is more suitable for star-rated hotels or high-end gifts.

Shearing: the terry of ordinary towel is cut off, so that the fabric surface is covered with smooth fluff. Towel cloth can be cut on both sides, or on one side, and the other side is towel cloth. It can also be partially cut to form patterned loops, which are printed and lined with each other. Cut velvet towels are characterized by softness, comfortable use, and stronger hygroscopicity and softness than ordinary towels. Printing after velvet cutting can increase the decorative beauty of towels, thus improving the product grade.

Personally, I think jacquard is the best of these three processes, and I can also look at Longyan Magpie towel, which is my original 3# yarn.
