The difference between LED spotlights

The differences between LED and spotlight are as follows:

1, power consumption is different.

Traditional spotlights mostly use halogen lamps, which have low luminous efficiency, high power consumption, rising ambient temperature and short service life. However, high-power LED has strong local light effect, uniform light spot and no dark place.

LED is far superior to traditional lighting products in terms of luminous principle, energy saving and environmental protection. Moreover, the unidirectionality of LED lighting forms a perfect support for the light distribution of spotlights.

2, the working principle is different

After applying DC voltage to LED, holes injected into N region from P region and electrons injected into P region from N region recombine with N region electrons and P region holes within a few microns near PN junction, respectively, resulting in spontaneous fluorescence. The energy states of electrons and holes in different semiconductor materials are different.

When electrons and holes recombine, the energy released is somewhat different. The more energy is released, the shorter the wavelength of light is. Commonly used are red, green or yellow light emitting diodes.

Spotlight mainly produces energy through the movement of free electrons, thus emitting light.

3, the scope of application is different

In home decoration, LED and spotlight are very different in many cases, such as living room, aisle, dining room, balcony, kitchen, bathroom, study and porch. Because in these places, the angle of illumination is not very high, and LED is used. But in the background wall and TV wall, spotlights are used, because when they shine on the wall, they can produce beautiful light spots, and there is a strong contrast between light and shade, and the space will be very artistic.

4. Different heat dissipation

When the light source emits light, it is often accompanied by heat. LED is a semiconductor and is very sensitive to temperature. If the temperature is too high, its service life will be reduced. Therefore, radiators are needed to help the lamps cool down, while spotlights are not needed.
