School of Materials Science and Engineering of Nankai University was established on 20 15. It is located in Jinnan Campus of Nankai University. Relying on the advantages of comprehensive disciplines of Nankai University, it has created a "new engineering" highland for talent training, scientific research, technology application and serving the society. As of 20 19, the college has 45 full-time teachers, including 24 professors and researchers, and 5 associate professors and associate researchers 15. Full-time teachers account for 56% of high-end talents, teachers with overseas academic background account for 82%, and teachers with doctoral degree account for 100%.

2. School history

College is the crystallization of many years' development of materials discipline in Nankai University. As early as 1999, Nankai University foresaw the important supporting role of new materials in the future development of the country, vigorously integrated the superior strength of chemistry and physics disciplines in the field of new materials, founded the materials discipline, and began to recruit undergraduates in the same year. Since then, the discipline of materials has developed rapidly, and has successively undertaken the construction projects of "Functional Materials Chemistry", "Special Functional Materials" and "New Functional Materials Chemistry" of the Ministry of Education.

The demonstration center of chemical experiment teaching in Jinnan Campus of Nankai University was established on 20 15. Located on the 3rd floor of Zone C of the Comprehensive Experimental Building in Jinnan Campus, with a total area of about 2,000 square meters and the total value of instruments and equipment exceeding 7 million yuan. There are four teaching laboratories of inorganic and analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry and instrumental analysis, and five colleges of environmental science and engineering, pharmacy, medical college and electronic information and optical engineering, which undertake about/kloc-0.5 million person-times and 70 thousand person-times of teaching every year.
