Traveling with parents (6) - Entering Innsbruck, Austria

July 30, 2018, the fifth day of the European tour, the place of travel: Innsbruck, Austria

Written in front: I sent the previous 5 travel notes to my parents. My mother said that she read every article carefully and said that my writing was very good. She was very moved after reading it. Someone asked her before where she went during her summer vacation in Europe. She said that she had visited several countries, but she couldn’t remember the names of the places. After reading my travel journal, I can finally tell others where I have been, but I don’t know if anyone has asked her this question yet! Haha, what a cute mom!

After reading my travel notes, my husband became even more exaggerated. He said that he would help me publish a book at his own expense and print dozens of copies. In addition to giving them to my parents, he would also give them to relatives and friends. A copy, that would make more sense! I said: Just make your own mistakes and enjoy yourself. If all my relatives and friends have a copy, others will think that I am showing off in a high-profile manner, and they will blacklist me. I will not do such stupid things!

No matter what, I am grateful to them. The support of my family makes me feel particularly accomplished and I am more motivated to code.

—————Dividing Line————

Leaving Venice, Italy, our tour bus headed north along the Alps to Innsbruck, Austria.

From Venice, Italy to Innsbruck, Austria, the whole journey is more than 400 kilometers and takes more than 5 hours by car. (Let’s start with a set of beautiful photos that are eye-catching)

I was worried that my mother, who always gets car sick, wouldn’t be able to stand riding in a car for such a long time. I didn’t expect that she didn’t feel tired at all during the whole journey. She was not tired after riding in the car for the past two days. We just lay down with our eyes closed and didn't dare to move, for fear that we would suffer from motion sickness and vomiting. Not only did she not feel any discomfort during the more than 5-hour drive, she was also excited to enjoy the breathtaking scenery along the way. Before that, she was a person who suffered from severe motion sickness. When she went back to her hometown from the county town, which was an 80-kilometer-an-hour drive, she would vomit a dozen or twenty times. She didn't dare to go anywhere because she would have to rest for several days before she could recover after just one ride. After returning to China from Europe, she no longer suffered from motion sickness. Even if she took a stop-and-go bus in the county town that took two hours to get home, she no longer felt sick. Overcoming the painful motion sickness is probably my biggest gain from this trip to Europe!

The tour guide said that this day’s journey is relatively long and may be a more strenuous day, but this is not the case. I believe that the group members should have the same feeling as me: this road is the most special and amazing one in our entire journey, because along the way we have seen scenery that we cannot see in China.

Along the way, we saw the majestic Alps, villages surrounded by the Alps, gentle hills, tranquil lakes, soft grass, and not a single piece of bare land. . . . . . The scenery stretches along the way, like a fairyland on earth.

Everyone in the car kept saying "wow", and everyone was snapping photos, and a random photo turned out to be a postcard.

My mother, who had never seen such a beautiful countryside, was more excited than ever. She kept telling me: The grass here is so flat, why isn’t there a single weed growing on the mountain? Look, there are a group of sheep grazing there! There is a train passing through the mountainside! You see, all their houses are built on the top of the mountain. There is only one house on the top of the mountain and the government is willing to build a road. How much will it cost? . . . . .

Seeing my mother’s excitement, I felt a little dazed, as if I had gone back to my childhood when my parents took me to my uncle’s house in the city for the first time. Everything in the city felt so novel to me. Keep asking this and that. Many years later, it was me who took them on trips with them.

Apart from my mother, the most excited person on the road was Teacher Ji who probably made the loudest “wow” noises!

Teacher Jie is from Zhanjiang. Among the 12 families in our group, he is the only one with only one family. Carrying a SLR and dragging my luggage, I came out alone, which impressed me very much. Teacher Jie is a few years younger than my dad, and they are still colleagues. My dad has retired and he is still working, so we communicate with him more.

This trip to Europe is not the first time Mr. Jie has traveled. Looking through his circle of friends, he has traveled all over the country. After returning from this trip to Europe, he then went to South Korea. Director Gong suggested to us that we should apply for a US visa first, because the United States is a place worth visiting. After returning to China, Teacher Jie was the first person in our group to apply for a US visa, and he was extremely efficient. Mr. Jie loves sports. He will swim wherever he can. He has swam in hotel swimming pools in Florence, Italy, and in natural lakes in Switzerland. I, who also love sports, admire him greatly.

Although he came out alone, the cheerful and humorous teacher Ji quickly became involved with the group members. He is the pistachio of our group. When he is around, there is laughter. I hope that when I reach the age of Mr. Jie, I can be like him and have the ability to take a casual trip and maintain a hobby that I have always insisted on. Only such a life can be called a perfect life. Many of the photos in this travelogue were provided by Teacher Jie. The photos he took are quite good. I would like to express my sincere thanks! I hope I can have the chance to travel with him next time I travel!

After more than 5 hours of driving, we arrived at the ancient Austrian city of Innsbruck in the Alpine valley at around 7 pm and checked into a hotel in the center of Innsbruck. This hotel is the one I feel most comfortable in, so I took photos of the hotel room.

After dinner, it was around 8 o'clock in the evening and it was still bright. Looking up, the sky is still so clear and blue.

Austria is a particularly developed country. Innsbruck is the third largest city in Austria and is known as the "Crossroad of Europe". This small city located in the Alpine valley borders Germany to the north, Italy to the south, Switzerland to the west, and Hungary via the capital Vienna to the east. It is well deserved to be called a crossroads. In the Old Town of Innsbruck, the appearance of the medieval city is still well preserved. Innsbruck is shielded by the Alps to the north, so it has a pleasant climate all year round. You can escape the heat in summer and ski in winter. It is a famous international tourist destination. (This paragraph comes from the Internet)

Even in summer, there is still snow all year round on the mountain peaks, and the floating white clumps look like volcanic eruptions. Standing on the street, no matter where you are, you can see the snow-capped peaks of the Alps.

The old city maintains the appearance of a medieval city. On the streets, Gothic-style buildings, Baroque gates and Renaissance-style arcades show the style of the ancient city. There are no high-rise buildings in this city, only four or five floors at most. The houses are brightly colored, including dark grey, light red, pink and white, beige, light blue and ocher. . . The constant changing of colors overcomes the dullness of relatively uniform architectural styles. I don’t understand architectural design or painting, but this city gave me a dreamlike color.

After checking into the hotel that night, my son was worried about his safety and was not happy for us to go out at night, so he went to bed early that night.

Let me post some of the night scenes Mr. Jie took at night, so that everyone can experience the beautiful night of this city.

I woke up automatically at 5 o'clock the next day, got up to wash up, changed clothes, packed my luggage. After finishing organizing, I opened the window and found that it was already bright outside. I put on my running shoes and went out for a morning run.

(PS: The editor sister said that I used too much pen and ink when writing about running in my previous travel notes to Florence. The focus of travel notes is to record my own feelings, and what I feel the most about is running. Haha, let’s be verbose. )

Let me introduce, next, I will start talking about my running again~

In my eyes, there is no better way to feel a city than to measure it with footsteps. way out!

In Innsbruck at the foot of the snow-capped mountains, the temperature in the morning is less than 20 degrees, which is very suitable for running. The air here is fresh, the streets are clean and tidy, and the cleanliness of the streets is surprising.

Worried about getting lost, I only dared to circle the street near the hotel at first. After getting familiar with the terrain, I ran further. Saw the sunrise, saw the train passing through the streets, and very few people walking on the streets.

Feel the city with your heart while running.

Although this is the city center of Innsbruck, there are few people. The streets in the early morning seem quieter and there is a kind of quiet tranquility. There is no scorching sunshine here, and you can find peace and beauty.

I ran to another street and met an old man who was also jogging in the morning. He ran past me and saw me, an Oriental with black hair and eyes. He smiled and nodded to me. , even though it was just a very small body language, it made me feel so comfortable.

Jog 6.6 kilometers, return to the hotel, take a shower, and arrive in time for breakfast. After exercising, your whole body feels refreshed and you are full of energy to welcome the new day.

Our first stop of the day was the city’s famous “Golden Rooftop”.

The Internet says that the Golden Roof is the landmark of Innsbruck. It was built in 1500 by the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I and completed in the early 16th century to celebrate his second marriage. The golden roof is said to be decorated with 2,657 gold-plated copper tiles. As a royal box, he could sit on the balcony and watch the crowds and games in the square below. Various forms of concerts and concerts are often held here. Whenever celebrations are held in the square, members of the royal family are here to watch with people. In modern times, you can often enjoy Innsbruck's high-level concerts and Innsbruck's version of Austrian style. Musicians from all over Europe, teachers and students from the conservatory, and Innsbruck locals perform here. artist.

On the way to the "Golden Roof", I took a group photo of my parents. The only group photo I took of them in Innsbruck, I even took the backlight.

Following the tour guide from the broad streets into the narrow and dark alleys, the famous "Golden Roof" turned out to be just a five-story white building that was not much different from the surrounding buildings. It was different from what I originally thought. Far from what you can imagine.

The doorway arch of this building allows people to pass directly below. There is a balcony in the center of the fourth floor facade that looks like a theater box. There is a trapezoidal overhang on the side pillars with exquisite floral decorations. It is covered with gold foil, and although the building is old, it still shines brightly. On the inside of the balcony under the golden eaves, you can see murals with a simple style and older time.

Innsbruck, Austria is the hometown of Swarovski. The Swarovski World flagship store is right next to the "Golden Roof". When you go out, you can see the Golden Roof.

I have never been interested in shopping, and the same goes for jewelry. I thought I would not buy anything here, but after shopping around, this place is simply a paradise for women! I like every piece of jewelry in it so much. It seems that women can’t escape this fate after all!

I bought a ring and necklace for myself, a necklace for each of the three little girls at home, and bought souvenirs, rings or necklaces for my colleagues, friends, and sister-in-law. If my mother hadn’t stopped me, I think I would have been unable to stop buying. I brought 500 euros from China that my son disliked and never used, and almost all of it was donated to Swarovski. I paid with 3 large-denomination banknotes, kept spare change, and swiped my credit card.

This ring my son helped me choose is 59.9 euros. I took it with me when I got home and I liked it very much. The disadvantage was that it was too big and it was very loose to carry around. I only put it back in the box after only carrying it for a day. If my fingers don't gain weight in the near future, I'm afraid this ring will go unused. I bought a ring for a colleague. I thought she was fatter than me, so I changed the size from S to M, but it turned out that it was too big for her. Alas, I couldn’t even buy the right size with my hands, not to mention how depressed I was.

Innsbruck, Austria, a transit point for a short stay, I thought there was nothing to record here, but once I started writing, I found that I still had a lot of feelings.

I took this photo with my son at the foot of the snow-capped mountains before leaving. He looked very reluctant. When the children grow up, they are no longer so willing to take photos with me, which makes me a little disappointed.

We continue to go north along the Alps. Our next stop is Munich, Germany and the German town Fussen, 130 kilometers away. The next article will take you to experience the fairy tale Neuschwanstein Castle and romance. The legend of melancholy King Ludwig and Princess Sissi.
