Ya'an one-day tour introduction
Ya'an is a city full of vitality and historical deposits. It became the epicenter of the 2008 earthquake. The city suffered extensive damage, but has now been rebuilt. Here’s your guide to a day trip to Ya’an.
When I first arrived in Ya'an City, Sichuan Province, I was shocked by the topography of Ya'an City. The entire city's buildings are built against the mountains, with towering mountains on the north, west and south sides of the city. I have long heard that Ya'an is a rainy city. The warm and humid air from the south gathers over Ya'an all year round, giving it rainy weather all year round. God didn't particularly take pity on me when I first arrived, so it rained intermittently at night and when I went out in the morning.
Ya'an, formerly the capital of Xikang Province, was established in 1955 after Xikang Province was revoked and merged into Sichuan. In December 2000, with the approval of the State Council, the Ya'an region was abolished and Ya'an City, a prefecture-level city, was established. Because it is located on the western edge of the Sichuan Basin, Ya'an City is known as the "Throat of Western Sichuan", the "Gateway to Tibet" and the "Ethnic Corridor".
Ya'an is located in southwest Sichuan, bordering Erlang Mountain and Tibet. The production of Mengding tea is known as the birthplace of Chinese tea culture, and the famous Tea Horse Road in Southwest China is located here. Located at the intersection of Chinese and Tibetan culture in Ya'an, it is a natural oxygen bar with profound historical heritage, beautiful mountains and rivers, and good ecology.
The unique geographical location and climatic conditions have created three characteristic landscapes of Ya'an: "Yayu", "Yayu" and "Yayu", also known as Ya'an Sanya.
According to "Sichuan Chronicles" "There is Zhou Gong Mountain in Yazhou. It is said that Kongming dreamed that Zhou Gong was here. Because the temple was built as Wenxian Temple, it was named Zhou Gong Mountain." Since Ya'an is located in a mountainous area, it is very beautiful all year round. It is hard to see bright sunshine and it rains 300 days a year, so it is called the "Rain City".
There is a folk legend in Ya'an: When Nuwa was making colorful stones to mend leaks in the sky, she drew seven-star needles to sew cloud clothes. Just when the great task of mending the sky was about to be completed, I suddenly heard that another big hole had appeared in the sky in Ya'an to the west.
She rode the condor to Ya'an without rest, and continued to mend the sky without sleeping or eating. Just as she was preparing to make up for the "sky leak" over Ya'an, other places were also anxious. In desperation, Nuwa took the stone to Taiwan Island and Hainan Island, and Ya'an became a "leak in the sky".
Data show that Ya'an City has a humid subtropical monsoon climate, with an average annual temperature of 14.1 to 17.9. The city has high humidity and little sunshine. The average annual rainfall is about 1800 mm, making it the area with the highest rainfall in Sichuan.
Du Fu, the great poet of the Tang Dynasty, wrote a poem about "Sneaking into the night with the wind, moistening everything silently", which is about the rainy night in Ya'an. A local poet said that the rainy nights in Ya'an nourish the growth of all things in spring and make people feel the beginning of the grass growing and the orioles flying. In summer, it eliminates the heat and brings cool air to people; in autumn, it washes away the dust, the sky is high and the clouds are clear, and the forest and sea are dyed, giving people an "elegant" feeling. Therefore, it is called "Yayu" by the locals. Yayu is the first of the three wonders. No matter what season it is, it’s possible to experience graceful rain. Elegant Rain is also very considerate. It usually falls in the evening, is thin but not wet, and is full of poetry. The rain in Ya'an is not only good rain, but also gentle, neither angry nor mad, not calm, slightly leisurely, gentle and drizzle, falling on the trees, with lush branches; sprinkled on the crops, the crops are like drinking cheese Lowering his head; falling on the boy's arms and chest. The boy is full of energy and full of energy; it is sprinkled on the girl's face. After bathing, the girl is as charming as a begonia. Only the rain here can be called 'elegant'. The clouds are like mist, like gauze, as if nothing has happened. The warm air is mixed with a large number of negative oxygen ions. Walk in such rain, enjoy the sound of rain, or listen carefully to the sound of raindrops falling at Zhougong's feet, on flower branches, or in Zhougong River. Dense scenes, no matter how anxious the mood becomes.
Test results from relevant departments show that Yayu is rich in negative oxygen ions, and bathing in Yayu can suddenly excite a tired body and mind. Because the local people often shower in the rain, they all live a long and healthy life. According to historical records, there were nine generations of longevity families in the Tang and Qing dynasties. During the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Kangxi presented a gold plaque of "China's No. 1 Family" to the Chen family of Changshou Mountain in Bifeng Gorge.
To my surprise, on the roadside walking along the Qingyi River, I saw a graceful fish being sold by local residents.
There are not many wild graceful fish, and most of those that can be sold now are artificially bred. As one of the three major elegant schools in Ya'an, Yayu has a long-standing reputation. It was recorded as early as 1700 years ago. Zuo Si, a writer of the Western Jin Dynasty, said in "Ode to the Capital of Shu" that "Jiayu comes out of cave B". Ya'an was once the jurisdiction of Hanjia County, so Zuo Si called it "Jiayu". Since the Tang Dynasty, it has been called "ice and snow fish". St. Du Fu's poem praised "the fish knows its point C is particularly beautiful."
Legend has it that the sword left by the Goddess Butian was melted into the water, so the sky bone of the Elegant Fish is shaped like a sword. Some people also say that there is a "sword" hidden in Yayu's skull, which is the result of Su Qin's alienation from other countries during the Warring States Period. His sword slipped into the river and was collected by Yayu, so that it became an "anti-counterfeiting sign" to reward Yayu in the future: if there is a sword, it is genuine, if there is no sword, it is fake. Ya fish lives in rapids and feeds on fresh aquatic animals, so its meat is tender and delicious. The elegant fish is beautiful and slender, with fine and shiny scales and fins. The meat is firm and tender, with a smooth taste and rich nutrition. It can be eaten for a long time.
Sichuan produces beauties, and Ya'an is no exception. However, the beauty of Ya'an women has its own uniqueness. The land is nourished by water and soil, and Tibetan and Han people live together in Ya'an. Ya'an women have both Tibetan and Han characteristics. Their appearance is softer than that of Tibetan women and more three-dimensional than that of Han women. They are slim and voluptuous, healthier and brighter than Tibetan women.
"Fengya Girl" has the aura of Fengya Yu and the tranquility of Fengya Tea, giving people a feeling of endless charm. An elegant girl, because of the nourishment of elegant rain and the nutrition of elegant fish, blooming one by one, like a lotus out of the bath or a rose with dewdrops, she is not only beautiful and pure, but also gentle and kind. The girls here are as white as snow, with gentle personalities, and communicate with others as leisurely and elegantly as rain. Most of their songs are lyrical and elegant, with a gleaming voice. A girl in the flower season, graceful in the rainy season. They smiled like a moonlight and shy flowers, lowered their heads and pursed their lips like a sinking fish and a geese. The beauties in Ya'an are mostly graceful and famous for their pretty faces. In legend. Ya'an is beautiful because of the elegant fish, colorful because of the elegant rain, and charming because of the elegant women. Together they form Ya'an's unique "elegant" humanistic characteristics.
Before coming to Ya'an, I watched a documentary about Ya'an on CCTV. I know that Ya'an is not only famous for its three beauties, but also the place where China's national treasure, the giant panda, was discovered. In 1869, China's first giant panda was discovered in Ya'an, shocking both China and foreign countries. Giant pandas are also known as living fossils internationally. From then on, Ya'an began to go to the world and was gradually known and understood by the world.
Giant pandas have also become Ya’an’s golden signature. It is understood that since 1955, especially after liberation, the Ya'an government has sent 136 live pandas. The first live panda to go abroad and the first live panda to go abroad as a "national gift" both came from Ya'an. Today, Ya'an has the largest remaining population of giant pandas in China.
The core area of ??Sichuan Giant Panda Habitat 52 is located in Ya'an. After the 5.12 Wenchuan earthquake, the Bifengxia Giant Panda Conservation Base in Ya'an, China, became the world's largest giant panda protection, research and breeding base.
The Qingjiang River meanders through the urban area of ??Ya'an from west to east, and the bridge has naturally become an indispensable link between residents on both sides of the Qingyi River in Ya'an. Coupled with Ya'an's rainy weather, Ya'an's unique covered bridge culture has been created. Along the b

Under the guidance of the locals, I walked east along the north bank of the Qingyi River and found the largest covered bridge in the world. After walking for about twenty minutes from the hotel, the majestic figure of Yazhou Covered Bridge came into view. Although I have seen many covered bridges in Guangxi, I was still a little surprised when I approached the Yazhou Covered Bridge. This covered bridge is known as the world's first covered bridge, 22 meters wide and 240 meters long. The entire covered bridge is an antique building, with two floors overall and three floors in part. The bottom floor of the corridor bridge can not only meet the traffic functions on both sides of the Qingyi River, but also establish a considerable commercial business area. There are a variety of goods in the shops on the covered bridge. In addition to daily necessities, there are also many Tibetan and Qiang specialties and costumes. The second and third floors of the corridor bridge can be equipped with multi-functional business rooms such as restaurants, cafes, displays, exhibitions, and outdoor viewing. We know from the exhibition hall that the Yazhou Covered Bridge has a total construction area of ??9,028 square meters, with only a commercial pedestrian street on the first floor, a commercial construction area of ??2,100 square meters, and a commercial construction area of ??3,934.92 square meters on the second floor of the covered bridge.
The three-story commercial building covers an area of ??1,231.5 square meters; among which, the multi-functional hall covers an area of ??1,051.2 square meters. The Yazhou Covered Bridge organically combines urban construction, water and electricity, history and culture, tourism, business premises and other exhibition halls to fully display the local folk customs and customs of Ya'an. local culture.
It is understood that the world's largest covered bridge started construction in November 2004 and was opened to traffic after completion in August 2005. Ya'an Covered Bridge is integrated with Ya'an Beer Street, Red Wall Inn, Ximen Tea Lounge, Qingyi River and other city attractions, creating an antique and romantic scene in Ya'an, attracting many tourists. The covered bridge, nestled in the green mountains and green waters, gives visitors a visual impact and can’t help but evoke the poetic and picturesque feeling of “the long bridge lies in the waves, there is no doubt about Ho Hong”. Walking on the Yazhou Covered Bridge, tourists cannot but feel the impact.
There are guardrails and sidewalks on the downstream side of the covered bridge. On the guardrail, a relief sculpture of "Chinese Red" granite, Ya'an's characteristic stone, is installed. A 50cm wide flower pond is built outside the upstream side anti-collision guardrail, and a "Chinese Red" granite relief is installed on the guardrail. There are historical patterns such as "Hometown of Pandas", "Charm of Asia" and "Asian Style" on the reliefs.
After walking through the Yazhou Covered Bridge, I looked back several times. In my heart, I not only admire the originality of the designers of Yazhou Covered Bridge, but also marvel at the magnificent buildings that the builders built in such a short period of time. I stayed near Yazhou Covered Bridge for a long time, not because I had an appointment with a client, but because I expected to stay all morning.
Since there was not much time, I quickly took a group of photos with my mobile phone in front of the covered bridge, and then left in a hurry. Later I went on business trips to Ya'an twice. Every time I pass by the Qingyi River, I can’t help but walk towards the largest covered bridge in Ya’an. I not only enjoyed the scenery on both sides of the covered bridge, but also felt the peaceful life of Tibetan and Han people living in harmony.
