What is naturalistic photography?

"Naturalism photography" in photography art came into being in 1886, which is a brand-new photography art proposition and artistic pursuit in the struggle against the separation of creation from reality and life, and against the "living on one's laurels" of art. This school believes that photography art should be the product of the combination of modern science and technology and art, and an excellent photography work should come from life and nature, which is the result of photographers' intuitive choice in nature and life, using the technical means provided by photography. Respect for the natural state, any artificial change (or improvement), such as disturbing the subject, adjusting the shooting scene or post-processing, will only damage the "beauty of the natural state", thus weakening or destroying the original artistic value of the work. They think that nature is the starting point and the end point of photography. P·H· Emerson, the founder of this school of photography art, once expressed his idea of photography art in such clear language: "Emotionally and psychologically, the effect of photography works lies in the unadorned lens images recorded with photosensitive materials."
