What does off-axis lens mean?

Off-axis lens means that if you don't pay attention to the moving direction of the object, or shake the lens left and right, the lens will cause confusion in the moving direction, line of sight direction or positional relationship of the characters on the screen.

Axis refers to an imaginary straight line or curve formed by the direction of sight, the direction of movement and the relationship between different objects. Their corresponding titles are direction axis, movement axis and relationship axis respectively. When setting the camera position and shooting, we should abide by the axis method, that is, set the camera position in the area on one side of the axis.

No matter how many pictures are taken, how the camera position and angle change, and how complicated the lens movement is, from the picture, the moving direction and position relationship of the subject are always the same, otherwise it is called off-axis or off-axis.

Axis classification

Direction axis: indicates that the subject is stationary, that is, the position has not moved. In this way, the axis is determined according to the connecting line between the subjects or the vertical line from the subjects to the background plane, which is called the direction axis. Take the subject as an example, the straight line of sight of the subject is the axis, and the straight line connecting him and the other party is also the axis.

Motion axis: that is, a moving person or object, whose motion direction constitutes the motion axis of the subject. It is an invisible line produced by the subject's motion, or called the subject's motion trajectory. When shooting a group of connected lenses, the shooting direction of the camera should be limited to the same side of the axis and not beyond the other side of the axis.
