What is SABER certification?

Let's start with two changes:

From 1. 20 19 1.00, the new certification scheme of "SABER" was launched in Saudi Arabia, which will replace the current SASO certification scheme;

2. From June 5438+1October15th, 2020, "SABER certification" will completely replace the old "SASO certification", and all products must pass SABER certification before they can pass customs smoothly.

1. What is SABER certification?

0 1/ SABER certification refers to the conformity certification evaluation plan for non-Saudi enterprises (that is, enterprises exported to Saudi Arabia).

02/ SABER certification is an upgraded version based on the original SASO certification, and it is also a new certification and accreditation plan to replace "SASO certification".

2. What are the main points of saber certification?

01/"saber certification" is a new evaluation project about the conformity certification of products and batches of goods going to Saudi Arabia. The importance of SABER certificate is to confirm whether the products meet Saudi standards and norms, to protect investors from fraud when importing any high-risk or medium-risk products, and to prevent false and unqualified products and ensure that the products will not affect the health and safety of consumers.

02/"Saber Certification" is a new online application system launched by SASO. SABER is actually a network tool for product registration, distribution and COC certification.

03/ According to "SABER Certification", products are classified into three grades according to risk categories: high, medium and low. According to the risk category, different authorized institutions will adopt and implement different compliance inspection procedures.

3. What is the certification process of "Saber Certification"?

The first stage: PCoC certificate (product qualification certificate)

0 1/ The importer registers the SABER platform system account;

02/ Input the application information into SABER system;

03/ Select a conformity assessment and certification institution in SABER platform system;

04/ Pay PCoC certificate fee;

05/ Exporter/manufacturer provides authentication documents;

06/ The license issuing agency submits the approval documents to SABER system;

07/ SABER platform issues PCoC certificate online, and the certificate is valid for 1 year.

Note: Some high-risk products need factory inspection.

The second stage: SCoC certificate (partial shipment certificate)

0 1/ submit SCoC application materials to SABER system;

02/ The issuing authority confirms the validity of the PC certificate;

03/ Pay SCoC certification fee;

04/ SABER platform issues SCoC certificate online, which is only valid for this batch of imported goods.
