The Song Ancestral Hall is officially open to the public

The Song Ancestral Hall located in Longwo Village, Shuikou Town, was officially opened to the public on March 23.

The Song Ancestral Hall was built in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties and covers an area of ??about 20 acres. Facing Mount Emei and leaning against the Leshan Giant Buddha, it has been waiting quietly in Longwo Village for more than 400 years. Now, there are stone carvings on the door frames and stone statues on the walls of the ancestral hall. After many years, you can still identify it, and if you look closely, you can imagine the scenery of the past.

The ancestral hall became a key municipal cultural relic protection unit in 1998 and was upgraded to a provincial cultural relic protection unit in 2007. It is currently the only ancient clan ancestral hall in Sichuan Province that has received provincial key cultural relic protection. The ancestral hall is a wooden structure surrounded by brick walls. It is a two-story courtyard composed of a theater building, a back building, an ancestral hall, a dormitory hall, a horizontal hall and a hall. Looking up, the green bricks and green tiles show the aftertaste of history; when you get closer, the cornices are upturned, like a bird spreading its wings, light and agile.

In the past two years, the Song Family Ancestral Hall has become the subject of many photography enthusiasts, especially in spring. Hundreds of acres of yellow-flowered Suzuki trees in Shuikou Town and thousands of acres of rapeseed flowers on the plain next to the ancestral hall are in bloom for the second time. The ancient buildings and flowers complement each other and are even more beautiful.

Attraction introduction

It is solemn and solemn, with a long-lasting ancient atmosphere. Standing outside the gate of the Song Ancestral Hall, I saw several tall camphor trees lined up in a row, like guards in awe.

The front of the ancestral hall is a mottled blue-grey high wall, and the four characters "Song Ancestral Hall" are particularly eye-catching on the wall. There is a square white box under the big characters. Unfortunately, the patterns in the box are almost weathered, and only a few patterns remain. "I heard from an old man that water animals were originally painted here, and they would come out to eat crops when it rained. Later, villagers posted the pattern many times." A villager enthusiastically shared local folktales with reporters.

When you walk into the Song Ancestral Hall, you can clearly feel the weight of time. According to information provided by descendants of the Song family, this courtyard house with a history of more than 400 years was built in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties and covers an area of ??about 20 acres. It faces Mount Emei, with the Leshan Giant Buddha at its back, and is surrounded by mountains and rivers, with elegant scenery.

The ancestral hall has a wooden structure and is surrounded by brick walls. It is a dual courtyard composed of a theater building, a back building, an ancestral hall, a dormitory hall, a horizontal hall and a main hall. Looking up, the green bricks and green tiles show the aftertaste of history; when you get closer, the cornices are upturned, like a bird spreading its wings, light and agile. This temple has beautiful architecture and elegant layout. The front, left and right gates of the temple are engraved with stories of characters, which are exquisitely carved and lifelike. In the middle of the two doors, there are four characters "Song Ancestral Hall" written on it.

According to records in the "Song Genealogy", the Song, Yuan, Tai, Yuan and Yuan dynasties all used the imperial examination to obtain officials, and appointed officials to supervise the censor. During the chaos of the Yuan Dynasty, their descendant Song Shijin chose to settle in Longwozi (today's Longwo Village), gradually developed and expanded, and built the Song ancestral hall in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. "Inheriting the virtues and teachings of our predecessors, people can live in harmony and unity, know etiquette, yearn for the right path, and promote justice." The Song Ancestral Hall went through three major constructions, which took more than a hundred years, and was officially completed in the 30th year of Guangxu's reign in the Qing Dynasty. It is the best preserved folk ancestral hall in the province.

In 1998, the Song Ancestral Hall became a key cultural relic protection unit in the city.

In June 2007, the Song Ancestral Hall was promoted to a provincial cultural relic protection unit, becoming the only well-preserved ancient clan ancestral hall in Sichuan Province
