Urgent! ! ! Nikon D90 UV lens is broken, deformed and cannot be removed. There are scratches on the surface of the lens. What should I do?

Definitely ask customer service for repair. The coatings are anti-glare and light-transmitting, and minor scratches will not have a fatal effect on the passage of light. Generally speaking, if there are small scratches on the glass of the front lens, it won't affect the imaging much. Injuries to the back group will be more fatal. It is recommended that you use a small aperture below F16 for test shooting, so that the depth of field is large and you can confirm whether it really has no impact on the image.

If you can take pictures and focus, it means the camera body and lens motor are not broken. It should be noted that the UV groove on your lens may be deformed. Whether a new UV lens can be installed is a problem. I have not encountered this problem. Please consult customer service.

To sum up, it is probably not a problem to use. But if it is a plastic lens body, its mechanical strength will definitely be compromised compared to a brand new one. Be careful in the future.

If the UV slot is deformed, it will naturally not be able to apply UV. It doesn't really matter much. Your lens isn’t expensive anyway, so use it carefully. Wait until you have the money to get a good lens and then use UV.
