Germans Bernd and Sheila Becher (Bernd &; Sheila Becher is an influential pioneer and teacher of conceptual photography. Their "typology" photography practice is characterized by deadpan. Bernd (1931-2007), born in Siegen, Germany, studied painting and sketching under the famous painter Carl Luxing.
