Transportation routes

Transportation: Kanas Lake is 140 kilometers away from Burqin County, accessible by simple highway, and 246 kilometers away from Altay City. Car rental

The cost of renting a car from Hemu-Kanas Scenic Area is roughly as follows: 200 yuan/car from Burqin to Jiadengyu, 200 yuan/car from Hemu Village to Jiadengyu, 400 yuan from Burqin /car. Although there are many tourists going to scenic spots, it is not easy to find someone to carpool locally. There is even no mobile phone signal in some places, making it inconvenient to contact them. It is recommended to form a fixed team of 4 people before arriving at the attraction.

Currently, the shuttle bus to Hemu-Kanas Scenic Area has been cancelled, and you can only drive there by yourself or rent a car.

Kanas Scenic Area only has shuttle buses in summer, priced at 80 yuan/person.

Accommodation: There are few commercial accommodation facilities and can only accommodate a few hundred people per night. The European-style wooden houses on Kanas Lake are the most attractive, among which Kanas Villa is the best hotel. Kanas Village also has a large number of small hotels, houses and Kazakh tents. The disadvantage is that there is no place to wash, so I usually go to the creek in the woods. You can stay at the Burqin County Tourist Hotel, which has 120 rooms and the accommodation fee is relatively cheap. You can also stay at Kanas Lake. You can stay in a small hotel or tent in Kanas Village, or you can choose a local villager's house for about 10-20 yuan per night. If you want a better stay, you can go to Kanas Villa for 240-280 yuan/night.

: Travel tips

1. The lake area is 1,347 meters above sea level. Climb more than 4,000 steps from the west bank to the Fish Pavilion, overlooking the entire Kanas Lake and Liudao River Bend.

2. The distance from Burqin to Kanas is more than 160 kilometers. There is a shuttle bus from May to October before the snow starts; it takes 2.5 hours and the fare is 50 yuan. In addition, you can rent a car in front of the county bus station. Santana and Li Xia are priced at 100 yuan/person; Jinbei cars are 50 yuan/person (10 seats), and departures are full. The average temperature in summer is 15-20 degrees Celsius, so keep warm.

3. When you arrive in Kanas, you need to apply for a border defense permit. Remember to bring a photo of your ID certificate with you. Each 2-yuan card can be processed by the chartered car driver, which is very convenient.

4. A resort was built by the lake. The best standard room (wooden house) costs 300 yuan, and the cheapest accommodation is in a village carpet room, which costs about 20 yuan per person.

5. Although July and August are the peak seasons, November is actually the most beautiful season in Kanas in early winter. The vast grassland covered with snow and the Tuva horse-drawn sleigh are really a beautiful scenery.

6. There are several "Tuva home visits" by the lake. Among them, the only magical old man among the Wawa people who can play "Sul" can actually play the chords of a trio with a "Sul" made of reed sticks.

7. Kanas is the only European geographical system in China that belongs to the Arctic Ocean water system. The scenery is beautiful and there are many tourists all year round, so the annual ticket price is uncertain. Usually the fare for the second year is decided at the end of that year.

Warm Tips

Clothing: Kanas has a high altitude and a large temperature difference between morning and evening. Even in summer, you should prepare warm jackets, such as sweaters, woolen pants, and thick coats;

Medicines: There are many mosquitoes in the lake area in summer, so you should bring some anti-mosquito and anti-itch medicines, which will depend on your physical condition. Are you prepared for anti-hyperresistant drugs?

Communication: The local mobile phone signal is not good and often cannot be connected. Be prepared for a quiet vacation in isolation;

Photo: Among the paid attractions in Kanas , Kanas Lake is not the most beautiful. Wolong Bay, Moon Bay, Shenxian Bay, and Yaze Lake are relatively small and easier to photograph.
