Photographic record-the story of the old fish

On a foggy weekend morning, the whistle of the pier outside the window is melodious, and the water of Jialing River flows quietly, just beside the river. I attended a person's photography lecture.

On New Year's Eve three months ago, I happened to pass by and found a "new continent", full of wall scenery, light and shadow world, canyons, sea, snow-capped mountains, old people, women and children, a photography-themed restaurant, which is the site of old fish.

Who is the old fish? I didn't know anything before, but I was curious about what kind of person he was. He must go through many parts of the world, and he must have a brave and keen heart and eyes that are good at insight into the world in order to shoot those moving works.

I walked into his site again, but didn't see his voice first. His father is already giving a speech. Where is he? Originally, I sat in the audience and manipulated the computer to play images. I couldn't see his face clearly in the dim light, only knowing that he was wearing a hat and his voice was a little old. He is talking about a trip to India.

He likes to capture, and he is good at discovering the casual beauty in life in this natural way. I like his style very much. In India, instead of plunging into the bustling palace, he went deep into the chaotic slums and filmed the laundry workers. Photos show the simplicity of adults' faces, the innocence of children's faces, obedience and numbness to life.

Photography is the most straightforward record. He likes this direct way to record people and things that are not easy to find in life and this world, and of course the most beautiful scenery on the road.

I thought about it under the stage, then chatted with Lao Yu and interviewed this interesting man.

Old fish is very simple, just like an ordinary uncle, just dressed from head to toe outdoors. His not-so-vicissitudes face looks much younger than his voice. It is hard to imagine that he is a magical person. The identity of the former special forces is like a legend. Jianghu also said that when he was young, he raced from Beijing to the top of Mount Everest alone without backup, organized a folk off-road vehicle expedition, crossed the no-man's land in Hoh Xil, and was struck by lightning while filming in Rinpo Qi Feng, Ngari Gang. Photography was originally just a hobby, but in the end it produced a photo album, such as the documentary "Knife Class for Five Days and Five Nights" broadcast by Phoenix Satellite TV. The content is based on his Vietnam War memory text "Defeat like a Mountain" and the published "Tibet Photo Travel Guide", which is one of the most popular travel maps across Tibet. There is one person attending the lecture, and the route is complicated, but it is him.

Is it regretless for a person to live such a beautiful youth?

If you ask Lao Yu, why do you want to draw a map by hand, why do you like photography so much, and why do you want to drive to Mount Everest alone? Why, why, why, he will answer you with a smile. There is no reason, just like and want to do it, just like being driven by instinct, a very pure idea. If you ask him, is there anything you regret not doing? He may answer you seriously, alas, I regret it.

I don't know, Lao Yu has worked in many industries, gone through many detours, worked as a porter, chef, reporter, editor, and even director and "Little Red Riding Hood". When he was young, he was confused and helpless. What I wanted most when I was a child was not a family, but a chef. Hey, I just want to eat more in those hungry times! Look, what a real dream, but fortunately, Lao Yu's grandmother is from Chongqing. She learned to do housework and add oil, salt, sauce and vinegar at an early age, which is quite true for Chongqing folk home cooking. When Lao Yu was growing up, when his parents were busy with various political movements, he spent a long time with his grandmother, so he learned a lot of authentic Chongqing home cooking from her, and even learned the skills of making dried pickles and bacon sauce from her. This is also an important reason why he later became a chef and opened a restaurant. It turns out that he has two brushes.

No, in Lhasa, there is a restaurant called Laoyu, and every window of it can see the Potala Palace. As you can imagine, when the sun goes down, the lights are on, and the super visual sense brought by rich color levels is still in the heart to eat this meal? Ha ha. Now, in his hometown of Chongqing, there is also an old fish, facing the green Jialing River. At night, the other side is brightly lit, which means that there are no beautiful women to eat and drink. Coupled with the full "murals", such a master must be very affectionate.

Can a chef who is a director have no feelings? He thinks that the soul of photography is not how beautiful and shocking it is, but the story and the people in it, even the most ordinary things in life, are touching. He combined drama and photography naturally, ideally and in life.

This is the old fish, not a legend to me, but a real person. I admire two kinds of people in this world. One is to do only one thing all one's life, concentrate on one thing all one's life, and do one thing to the extreme, such as craftsmen; The other is to try all kinds of possibilities in life and extend life to a wide range of people. A depth, a breadth, the old fish has both breadth and depth. He has tried almost everything in life, and now he has something he loves from his bones, to explore, to deepen and to enjoy.

Old fish is very busy. His story is too long to finish. I think every step of everyone's life has its own unique scenery, which will eventually be a gift of your life. Only through these "winding" roads, will you know the most suitable road for you and see the inner light more clearly.

Old fish are not old. He travels all over the world in Sri Lanka. Photography is the brightest light in his heart.

Other experiences of Lao Yu:

After leaving the army, Lao Yu went to an automobile factory in Beibei, Chongqing and worked as a porter for some time. Later, he was hired as a reporter of Chongqing Workers Daily (predecessor of Chongqing Times). 1986, Lao Yu suddenly turned around and was admitted to the undergraduate course of Chinese opera director. Well, no, that's too much. Old fish just listed the businesses he has practiced in recent years: he is the owner of nightclubs, clothing stores, gift advertising companies, wedding photo studios and car rental companies; Worked as editor-in-chief of a newspaper; Worked as an actor, screenwriter, director and producer; Finally, I entered the IT industry and spent a good time in an American listed internet company and Lenovo's Beijing headquarters. I even worked as a courier in Hong Kong, commonly known as "Little Red Riding Hood".

In the 1990s, while studying in Sweden, Lao Yu got a job as a chef in a China restaurant in Stockholm and cooked Chinese food for more than a year.

Old fish's written record:

1, cross-country, adventure category: Beijing-Everest, a person's record, exploring Hoh Xil: innocent temptation and deadly trap.

2. Travel category: I am with Nange Bawa Peak, and here is Zhangmu, Celestial Burial: a hesitant story.

3. Memories of Vietnam War: "The defeat is like a mountain".

4. Others: "According to relevant laws, regulations and policies, some search results are not displayed."

Published photography books: Travel Photography in Tibet (published by people in Xizang Publishing House), Visual Himalaya and Visual Ali were published in March this year.
