How did digital photography develop?

In 2000, the magazine Popular Photography at the turn of the century published an article introducing Zhu Gang, a photography trainee in the Institute of Imaging of Central University for Nationalities. It is pointed out that Zhu Gang's personalized image is also true and false, that is, the materials are absolutely true and the composition is absolutely illusory. The author says that Zhu Gang combines traditional cameras with digital cameras, and finally digitally synthesizes them: scanning, transmission and image processing. The computer is a darkroom, and the human brain is added with a computer, which is fast, convenient and clean, which makes him "find back the happiness of photography in the past".

In fact, what Zhu Gang has done is just the tip of the iceberg of the digital photography craze. In the 1990s, with the popularization of electronic computers, human society strode into the digital age. In China, the vigorous development of digital photography and digital video production has brought a strong impact on traditional photography. As pointed out in the article "Welcome the New Era of Digital Photography" published by China Photography at that time, this kind of "non-horse and non-donkey" work is not understood by the photography circles in China now, especially from the perspective of traditional aesthetics, but it was actually born and attracted the recognition of many contemporary audiences ... I am sure it is an unprecedented art, which has created a new artistic realm for mankind and brought. (Yang Enpu)

It is found that digital technology can create a "world" completely different from real images, and an interesting "kingdom" full of artificial landscapes. Art lies in innovation. It doesn't matter whether you are immersed in potions or "pregnant" in electronic darkrooms. Zhu Gang's works "Student Apartment" and "Dismantling Human Body" are shocking, showing the author's concern for human living conditions and anxiety about the deterioration of the ecological environment. If these images are not digitized, I am afraid it is difficult to achieve such artistic effects.

The appearance of digital photography makes people realize that the artistic creation of photography can not only deal with the general "darkroom" skills and improve the photographic modeling on the premise of respecting the original scene of the subject; You can also break through the traditional realistic style, boldly imagine and create an unrealistic romantic picture of time and space.

The deepening of this ideological understanding prompted the Chinese Photographers Association to set up the category of "digital technology stunt image works" in the 20th National Photography Art Exhibition, the first "national film exhibition" sponsored by the Chinese Photographers Association after the new century, in order to show virtual image works created entirely by computer technology or works with special image effects assisted by computer technology. However, at the last national film festival, the same works can only be classified as "advertising, still life, stunt mirror, darkroom processing (computer synthesis)". This shows that digital technology is no longer just an auxiliary means of darkroom processing, and the works created with it have their own unique artistic character, human photography in the sun.

More than 200 1, 1, 100 beautifully-made human body photos were exhibited in the Grand Exhibition Hall of Guangzhou China Plaza. The First China Human Photography Exhibition opened in Guangzhou.

Since 1928, when Lang Jingshan took the first human body photo, China's human body photography has gone through a difficult and tortuous road. Due to the influence of feudal traditional ideas for thousands of years, human photography has always been regarded as a "scourge". This exhibition of human body photography marks that human body photography has gone out of the "underground" and started to get the understanding and respect people deserve.

Huang Xusheng and Guo Haichang's The Charm of Loess won the gold medal in this exhibition. This photo was taken in April 1999. When talking about the shooting experience, Huang Xusheng said: I grew up in Taihang Mountain, where the Yellow River and loess are symbols of China culture, leaving a mark on my heart. The idea of my work is to capture the spirit of China and embody the spirit of "descendants of the dragon". Like the Yellow River, women are the best symbol of the earth.

At the opening ceremony of the film festival, the most striking thing was Jing Tian, the model of this gold medal photo. When the girl with a height of 1.75 meters appeared, the meeting was full of excitement. Almost everyone took a few steps forward, and everyone behind her jumped up, hoping to see the model through the crowd. There were dozens of cameras and video cameras present, and Jing Tian was surrounded.

In the face of a reporter's question, Jing Tian described his experience as a mannequin: I started to be a mannequin from 1998, and I filmed indoors for the first time, and I regretted it after filming. How dare I? I'm not sure. Then the pressure came. Later, I read some books on art, and Mr. Huang also told me some knowledge about art, which made me have a further understanding of art and human body ... I know it is difficult to be a model, and I know that many models are insane or commit suicide because they can't stand the pressure, but I believe everyone will understand.

As the first mannequin in China who dared to go to the front desk to face the audience, Jing Tian's courage won people's appreciation, and the exhibition organizing committee awarded her the "Special Contribution Award".

This exhibition of human photography works lasted more than one year from its initiation to its first exhibition. More than 5,000 works were sent from all over the country, and 7 works were selected11. Although some of these works are not mature enough, most of them show healthy and upward aesthetic taste, which reflects the photographer's persistent pursuit of photography art and has been recognized by the society.
