Introduction of scenic spots
Guqing Town is located in Huaxi District, the southern suburb of Guiyang City. It is also known as the four ancient towns in Guizhou with Zhenyuan, Bing 'an and Longli. This ancient town was built in the Ming Dynasty and is a military fortress. A large number of ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties have been preserved in the town. The filming of "Looking for Guns" made Qingyan Ancient Town known to more people.
The ancient town is built on a mountain, and the city wall is built on a cliff made of huge stones. East, west, south and north. The exquisite stone carving and wood carving techniques in the town are a major attraction. Most of the scenic spots in the town are ancient buildings with different styles. Each scenic spot charges by itself. If you are here for the first time, you can buy a joint ticket to sweep all the scenic spots in the ancient city. If you just spend your leisure time in the ancient city, you can choose several scenic spots to buy separately according to your needs.
The Dingguang Gate at the south gate of the ancient town is the most magnificent of the four. Historically, it was the first pass to guard the south gate of Guiyang. The huge stone gate tower and the city wall are tall and mighty, and the winding stone road outside the city and the farmland on both sides constitute a magnificent picture. Many propaganda photos of Qingyan ancient town come from here.
Walking along Dingguangmen into the ancient town, you will first see Zhao's Centennial Square. This archway was built during Daoguang period of Qing Dynasty. Strangely, the stone lions carved on the four pillars have unusual tails, which are different from what you usually see. It's weird. Walking on the ancient post road paved with stone slabs, there are almost all shops selling local specialties on both sides of the street, as well as special snacks, such as stewed pig's feet, baked tofu and rose sugar. The taste is also very unique. If you are tired, you might as well stop and buy some.
The ancient post road winding from the south gate to the north gate is both the central axis of the ancient town and the main street. The main street is bounded by the ancient cultural square in the center of the ancient town. It is called North Street in the north and South Street in the south. Intersecting with the main street, East Street is in the east and West Street is in the west. Go east along East Street and you can reach Wenchang Pavilion, which is located at East Street 143. It was built in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. It is a brick-wood structure, built on the mountain, octagonal, resembling Jiao Zan architecture. This was once the place where literati studied, visited and offered sacrifices to Emperor Wenchang. If they are interested, they can also worship.
To the west of the main street, you can reach Xiangying Temple, Ciyun Temple, Wanshou Palace, Catholic Church and other religious buildings with different styles, each with its own characteristics, which is a finely crafted place for tourists to take photos as a souvenir. There is a quiet alley between South Street and West Street, called Back Street. Backstreet is the most distinctive stone lane in Qingyan ancient town. After hundreds of years of scouring and polishing, the bluestone slab on the pavement has been shining like a mirror, giving people a deep and quiet feeling. The streets are lined with gravel walls. The narrow and quiet road, undulating along the mountain, is an excellent place for photography.
The streets in Guqing Town are deep and complicated, but there are signboards on the main street and at every important intersection. And most of the alleys can go back to the main street, and you don't have to worry about getting lost when you walk in the ancient town. Generally speaking, it takes about 2 hours to walk through the ancient town, so there is no need to stay in the town.
