Wudang behind-the-scenes tidbits

1. In Wudang, there was a scene in which Zhang Junbao helped Zhu Yuanzhang rob the grain truck of the Yuan soldiers and wanted to shoot the flying horse down the cliff. The crew found a hillside about 10 meters high as the main scene, but the horse would jump off it, either dead or injured. So when shooting this scene, the crew tied a lot of steel wires to the horse.

People have to ride horses all the time, so this scene is quite dangerous for actors. The director and martial arts coach couldn't persuade Vincent Chiao to use body double. After studying for a long time, they agreed to let Vincent Chiao perform in person while ensuring safety. The staff covered the horse's eyes with black tape, so Vincent Chiao could finish the scene on this "blind horse".

2. In order to play Zhang Sanfeng who believes in Taoism, Vincent Chiao ate vegetarian food for 49 days from the beginning to the end.
