How does smplayer switch between hard decoding and soft decoding?

1. Open the PotPlayer software first, then click the "PotPlayer" option in the upper left corner, find the "Open" option in the drop-down list, click it and select the "Open File" option.

2. After entering the folder page, we find the video we want to play in the page, and then click the "Open" option.

3. After opening the video, we can see the icon of "S/W" or "H/W" on the time right at the bottom of the page.

4. "S/W" means that the video decoding mode at this time is software soft decoding and CPU video processing. If the computer configuration is high and you want to get better playback effect, you can use hardware decoding instead of soft decoding. We just need to click on "S/W", and the video will show "Use the built-in DXVA video decoder: On" in the upper left corner, and "S/W" will also become.

5. If our computer is not configured enough, or the video is stuck when using hardware decoding, we can change the hardware decoding to soft solution, click "H/W", and a prompt "Use the built-in DXVA video decoder: off" will appear in the upper left corner of the page, and "H/W" will be changed to "S/W", indicating that the soft solution has been successfully changed.
