Art College was established in July 2002. It consists of environmental art design department, decorative art design department, decorative art design department, painting department, comprehensive art teaching department and music department. There are two undergraduate majors: art design and painting. There are 344 undergraduates.

The college has advanced teaching facilities, and the art teaching building covers an area of more than 5,000 square meters. The College Experimental Center has 12 teaching laboratories, namely, graphic art design laboratory, model making laboratory, photography laboratory, art design microcomputer laboratory, computer sculpture laboratory, sculpture laboratory, printmaking laboratory and inkjet laboratory, with nearly 350 pieces of experimental equipment, and the equipment level ranks in the forefront of similar majors in Hebei Province. The college is also equipped with professional classrooms, piano rooms, art multimedia classrooms, teachers' art creation studios and exhibition halls.

There are 36 teachers, 8 administrative assistants and 8 visiting professors. Teachers from Tsinghua University, Luxun Academy of Fine Arts, Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, Hubei Academy of Fine Arts, Jilin University, Hebei Normal University, Minzu University of China, Central Conservatory of Music and other art colleges of different levels and regions, and the academic structure is optimized.

The college has constantly changed its educational concept, deepened its teaching reform, improved and perfected its teaching means and methods, and built a more scientific and standardized teaching system, which initially showed its own characteristics.

The college continuously strengthens the practice teaching link, aiming at cultivating compound and practical senior professionals with "thick foundation, wide specialty, strong skills and high quality". Some achievements have been made in teaching and personnel training. Many artistic design works have been selected for exhibitions and large-scale engineering design projects at home and abroad. Training objectives: this major trains senior professionals with knowledge and ability in art design and creation, teaching and research, and can be employed in art design, teaching and research, production and management units.

Training requirements: love the socialist motherland, support the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and master the basic principles of Marxism–Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought and Deng Xiaoping Theory; During the study period, students can master the basic theory and knowledge of art design, master the professional skills and methods of art design creation, have the basic ability to independently carry out art design practice, understand the principles, policies and regulations of cultural and artistic undertakings, understand the development trends of art design at home and abroad, master the basic methods of literature retrieval and data inquiry, and have certain scientific research and practical work ability.

Training objectives: this major trains senior talents in architectural art design and urban planning and design. Students should master the basic theoretical knowledge of environmental design inside and outside the city, have a strong art foundation, be familiar with architectural decoration materials, structures and project budgets, and be skilled in applying computer-aided design systems to complete architectural decoration and environmental landscape design.

Students have systematic basic knowledge of decoration, basic skills of computer and photography, high cultural and artistic accomplishment and artistic creativity, and can independently conduct market research and decoration design.
