How to make special effects in movies?

Movie pictures are obtained by recording images on film with high quality focal plane, while TV pictures are recorded on tape by TV lens through CCD. Therefore, different imaging media and different quality lenses are the main factors that cause the difference between TV pictures and movie pictures.

Compared with TV pictures, the details of movie pictures are softer and more natural; The gray transition is smooth, so the levels are rich; In the high-light part of the image, because the width of the film can reach 8-stop aperture, a large number of high-light details are retained, while in the low-light area, the whole picture looks gloomy because of the large compression range. In addition, because the focal plane usually has a large aperture, the area of 35mm film is much larger than the imaging area of 2/3 inch CCD, and very small depth of field can often be obtained when shooting. Because the dynamic range of CCD is only about 600% and the tolerance after compression is only about 5 apertures, the TV picture taken by the camera will lose a lot of information because of the large compression of highlights. However, the imaging quality of CCD can be comparable to that of film in dark light level; In the transition of gray scale, because the video gamma curve is steep, it is very ideal in the contrast and color reproduction of the middle level. In the performance of depth of field, although the high-definition camera has been greatly improved, there is still a gap of nearly three apertures from the camera.

Through the comparative analysis of the film picture effect and the camera picture, we can purposefully use the powerful picture adjustment ability of the camera to create the film picture effect.
