Chen Liting's Life Experience

1930 graduated from the Higher Normal Department of Shanghai Daxia University. During my study, I participated in the Summer Drama Club and directed the stage play Three Rivers, which was translated and adapted from the drama The Moon Rises by the Irish writer Mrs Gregory.

At the beginning of 1934, Chen Liting served as a special contributor to the People's Daily supplement "Cinema Line" and made necessary theoretical preparations for the emerging left-wing dramas and films at that time. In the same year, he served as a special contributor to the film column of Shanghai Morning Post, translating and introducing the film theory of Soviet V.I. pudovkin and others.

1935 published a review of Nora's performance, which timely and profoundly summarized the artistic achievements of the left-wing drama leadership at that time.

From 1936 to 1937, he joined the amateur dramatists association and the amateur experimental troupe led by the dramatists association, and served as director, secretary of the board of directors and deputy director of the performance department successively, coordinating progressive dramatists from all sides and promoting the artistic growth of the progressive drama movement in China. After the outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, he served as the captain of the fourth team of Shanghai Salvation Drama Team.

After 1950, he directed films such as "People's Hand" and "Labor Blooms".

After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Chen Liting was mainly engaged in film work. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, in addition to continuing his film work, Qu Yuan was rearranged as China Youth Art Theatre 1953, and Thunderstorm was arranged to be directed by Shanghai Film Theatre Company and Shanghai Theatre Academy 1959.

Chen Liting is a representative of all previous national literary congresses, a member of the Chinese Federation of Literary and Art Circles, a director of the Chinese Dramatists Association, and a member of the third and fourth sessions of the China People's Political Consultative Conference.

On August 27th, 20 13, at 9: 35 am, Mr. Chen Liting, a famous drama theorist and film director in China, died of illness in Shanghai Huadong Hospital. 104 years old.
