Exhibition after unpacking (2): "Reconnecting" exhibition
I want to go to the Fuji image space in Huaihai Middle Road. In fact, strictly speaking, it is not an exhibition hall, but a place to buy photographic equipment and introduce photographic culture.
The name of the exhibition is "Reconnecting", and its significance is quite far-reaching. Because when preparing for the exhibition, the epidemic was hanging over the city. The first layer means that two Chinese and foreign photographers, located at the two ends of the earth, span 8800 kilometers to jointly display their works, which is the connection of their works; Another meaning refers to the rapid iteration of human scientific and technological revolution, the unexpected outbreak, and the subsequent travel blockade and epidemic prevention and isolation policies. Cities, families and even individuals have formed islands of different sizes, hoping to get rid of electronic screens and network technologies and strengthen the connection between people in other ways.
Photographer Olivia Arthur's works have a unique style. She explores intelligent bionic prostheses, AI humanoid robots, artificial intelligence pets and other elements all the year round. With the theme of touch, connection and technology, she shows how technology can help humans complete "touch" and realize emotional and social needs.
Most of the works are black and white movies. Those robots are like babies in their mother's womb, with simple and confused eyes. They rely on human touch to realize instructions. However, I think the robot pet next to me is cuter. In the near future, they may enter thousands of households and bring happiness to people. However, black and white photos always give people a cold and aloof temperament. They shed their colorful colors and express beauty more concisely and purely, but they also give people a depressed, dark, heavy and complicated mood.
Some of these photos are robots and some are babies. What the work wants to express is the connection between man and robot. What they have in common is that their smiles are so pure that they are not polluted by the world.
Olivia, who couldn't come to the exhibition site because of the epidemic, interacted with the audience in another unique way. She invited family and friends to hold a piece of clay, and made 30 ceramic works with their handprints, which were also presented in the exhibition, and visitors could use these handprints to realize a virtual "handshake".
Another photographer, Li Feng, whose works are all in color, which is of course absurd, but very interesting. It is said that he is like a city rambler, who will observe the new things in streets and public spaces from a unique perspective and capture the wonders of city life around him through special composition and lighting. His works are full of curiosity, contradiction and banter ... Of course, they are romantic, naive and vivid, which depends on the audience's own understanding.
For example, in the work, a girl wearing a blue and white down jacket and a mask looks at the front in a trance. What is more striking is the animal fur collar around her neck. The animal obviously has wide eyes and lives freely. So does this girl really love animals and advocate environmental protection? Or the object of criticism and condemnation? Work has its uncertainty, so we have different understandings.
For example, a man dressed as a security guard crouches in a snow-white corner with a small door open and a hand deep into it. Whose hand is this? Why does it protrude from below? Why does it convey greetings in such a tired posture? Or is this also a connection between people?
There are many works by such photographers. You have to look at each work carefully and think about it for a while before you find it interesting. This may be the meaning of photography! They use film to record those unforgettable moments, even forever.
There are many beautiful girls sitting in the exhibition hall, still the same, posing there or unable to sit up. When they take pictures by themselves, it is the background wall of that photo!
The exhibition hall is very small. I quickly pressed some books and came to the closet of my favorite book. Unfortunately, they are all photo books. I was not interested and left in a hurry!
The elegant Huaihai Road in Nuoda is very hot, and I keep drinking water. The station is just ahead, and I walk straight ahead with my umbrella. Go, go, go, leave the road, like a steaming oven.
