Why do you say that instant noodles can't be digested for three minutes and 32 hours?

American scientists photographed "processed food" and "food without additives" being eaten in the stomach through capsule endoscope. The results showed that the handmade Lamian Noodles was completely digested after 32 hours, but the instant noodles still remained and were not completely digested. Instant noodles are difficult to digest because they contain a variety of antioxidants and additives, which are harmful to health for a long time.

It is true that "photographing the digestion process of noodles with photographic capsules" is a cooperative project between Stefani Bardin, a media practitioner, and Braden Kuo, a doctor who studies gastroenterology. In this project, two volunteers ate two groups of different foods (one ate instant noodles, one ate handmade noodles, and the other two also ate different kinds of drinks and soft sweets), and then swallowed a capsule endoscope to record the situation in the digestive tract [1].

The image captured in "Gossip" comes from this video of Stephanie Bardeen introducing the shooting project at the TED conference. These images are real shots, but the interpretation of them in mythology is problematic. In fact, Stephanie Bardeen's video made it very clear that the two kinds of noodles were basically digested after eating for more than two hours, and the whole noodles could not be seen. Only instant noodles can see a little instant noodles. Moreover, the capsule endoscope used for shooting can only record the image of each person for 8 hours at a time, and it is impossible to record the noodle digestion for 32 hours continuously. Therefore, the myth that "instant noodles are still undigested after 32 hours" is unfounded.

In addition, there are only two samples recorded in this shooting, and there is no strict experimental design. The image obtained in this way is really difficult to explain anything. Everyone's digestive ability is different, and the digestive difference observed in shooting may only be caused by the difference of individual digestive ability. Besides noodles, other foods they eat are also different, which makes it even more impossible to judge the reasons for different digestion. What's more, "incomplete digestion" and "harmful to health" are two different things, otherwise we can't even eat Flammulina velutipes? Braden Guo also admitted in an interview that the original intention of this project was only to observe the digestion process of processed food. Due to the lack of subjects, it is impossible to draw the conclusion that instant noodles are difficult to digest or harmful to health.
