Hello, are you allowed to bring a SLR when you visit the Peony Pavilion? How far are the 380 tickets from the stage? Can you see and hear clearly?
Sorry I just saw your question today. I hope my answer will be helpful to future friends.
Photography is not allowed during the performance, but the performer welcomes everyone to take photos with the actors after the performance. So you can bring your own camera to take photos after the show. But the performers are very considerate and will help everyone take photos one by one with a SLR. Just leave your email address and they will send it to you. I received the photos from them just two days later, which Royal Granary Peony Pavilion did very well. (Note: All are free)
In addition, the entire royal granary and performance hall are very tastefully designed. You can bring a SLR to take more photos before the show starts.
I bought a 580 ticket because the 380 ticket was booked early. Don't worry, the entire hall is not very big, so there is no problem in hearing and seeing clearly. There won't be much difference between the last row and the first row, there are only more than 60 seats in a row. Also, in Act 1 and 3 the actors come in from behind the audience, so the last row is pretty good too.
