What are the characteristics of clouds?

Clouds are natural landscapes in the sky. Clouds are visible polymers produced in the atmosphere, which are composed of countless small water droplets or ice particles or their mixtures. There are many kinds of them, such as layered clouds, wavy clouds and cumulus clouds. Clouds are varied, beautiful, colorful and changeable. No wonder some ancient poets described clouds as fairy clothes. The appearance and changes of clouds often reflect the changes of weather, climate and natural environment. In different seasons, clouds have different performances. For example, floating clouds often appear in the sky in spring, stratus clouds often appear in summer, fish scale clouds are mostly in autumn, and striped clouds are more common in winter. Understanding these changing characteristics of clouds is very helpful for the selection and expression of clouds in photography.
