"animal camp" training

Due to the special requirements of the task, volunteers who join the China Frogman must pass the test of the "animal camp" training in the field training base, and military subjects such as Sanda, capture, fighting and assassination are necessary for every frogman.

China's "Frogman" troops receive 25 weeks of basic tactics training and armed training at sea in the hottest season every year. Frogmen collectively referred to this training plan as "sea training". In the first few weeks of "sea training", the players had to complete 30 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 200 sit-ups and 200 punches before going to bed every night.

Diving training

In the 20×40 swimming pool of frogman training camp, frogman should dive into the water 5 meters deep as required, tie 6 knots on a rope according to the required precise size, and then untie it according to the coach's signal. When diving training with an oxygen bottle, the coach often "cruelly" unpluggs the oxygen pipe of the frogman, or turns off the oxygen knob, or pulls off the oxygen mask.

Vietnam's Commanding Corps of Assault Engineers has Frogman Combat Schools in Long 'an and Jianhe provinces respectively, training 30-50 frogmen every year. The former has "Gao Shan" class mini submarines purchased from North Korea, which are mainly used for training in landing operations and attacking enemy ships, and can carry out class underwater assault, while the latter mainly trains frogmen to perform reconnaissance and infiltration tasks behind enemy lines. In the vast sea, the defensive side is limited by the area of islands and reefs, and most of them only deploy long-range warning radar or weather radar, which is basically in the pattern of "protecting the surface with points" and lacks the ability to attack under waterproof. Moreover, these islands and reefs are far away from the rear base, and it is difficult to get support once they are raided by frogmen, which has also become an important focus for Vietnam to develop frogmen troops.
