How to shoot fireworks
When shooting fireworks, you must arrive at the shooting location in advance so as to have enough time to prepare and find the best shooting location. Don't always shoot from the same angle when shooting. It is hoped that the position and angle between fireworks can be changed.
1. Use tripod: When shooting fireworks, due to the long exposure time (slow shutter speed), any movement of the camera will blur the photos and reduce the quality of the photos. In order to minimize the vibration of the camera, the best way is to fix the camera with a tripod.
2. Remote control device: If you want to keep the camera completely still during exposure, then the remote control device will be a good choice. Most camera accessories include a remote control. Another method is to use the timing function of the camera, but it needs to accurately grasp the exposure time of the photo.
3. Composition: The biggest challenge of fireworks photography is to choose the right shooting scene and angle before the fireworks show begins. This is also a great test for the photographer's predictive ability and imagination. There are several points to note:
4. Focal length: Most of my lenses use a long focal length. But when shooting fireworks, I also want to try the feeling of fullness and "crowding". At this time, I will use a lens that can be enlarged. Of course, the effect of the picture is also exciting. This painting is full of color and light.
5. Aperture: For fireworks photography, the most common question is how much aperture to use. Many people think that we should shoot with a short shutter, but the opposite is true. Because the fire of fireworks is very bright, I think the aperture size should be in the range of medium to small, and the shutter can be set to f/8 to f/ 16.
6. Shutter: Do you still remember those wonderful fireworks photos you have seen? These photos capture the process of fireworks flying across the sky in detail. To take such a photo, you have to set the shutter for a long time (the camera is fixed on a tripod). It is not recommended to adjust the maximum exposure time. Don't forget, the brightness of fireworks is very high (relative to the brightness of other objects in the dark), so long exposure will overexpose fireworks. When you look at the picture, you will find that the colorful fireworks seen by the naked eye have turned into white light in the picture.
7.ISO: Just reduce the ISO value to 100. This can minimize noise and ensure the quality of photos.
8. Turn off the flash: It is useless to use the flash for long-distance shooting. Usually the effective range of the flash is only a few meters away from the camera.
9. Manual mode shooting: In a very dark environment, autofocus is difficult to achieve the accuracy of 100%, which is likely to cause half of the photos you take to be out of focus. Once in focus, the focus will hardly change during shooting, so manual focusing can not only ensure accuracy, but also save time.
10. Check photos regularly: During shooting, check the photos taken irregularly. I usually take a few photos first, and then go over them to see if they basically meet my requirements. Of course, you don't have to check every shot, which may make you miss the next wonderful moment. Just make sure you don't take all the bad photos.
