How can photography skills make beginners take good-looking portraits?

Novices pay more attention to how to take good-looking portraits, especially to tap the resources of beautiful MM in their hands to be their own models. Outdoor shooting by netizens is another good choice, and some people enjoy it. The success of the film depends more on the quality of the equipment and whether the model is beautiful: the equipment is good, and in layman's terms, as long as you can press the shutter, 1D MARKII+ Canon red circle head, no matter what composition, the big head and fuzzy background are enough to fascinate people; Beautiful models have always been the killer of memory cards and movies. Even experienced photographers have to take enough headshots, and the enthusiastic clicks and replies of major photography forums to beautiful photos also make these portraits full of passion.

But no matter how good the food is, if you eat too much, you will get tired. The stereotyped headshots and MM shadows will not only win applause from some MM fans, but also make the photographer lose. There is nothing wrong with being obsessed with portrait photography. Have you noticed that there are few headshots in the works of portrait masters? Is a truly exquisite work a perfect combination of light, shadow, god and scenery? Here only talk about the shooting skills of small-scale backlight portraits.

Smooth and flat shooting is the easiest, even if you use it.

The fully automatic fool mode of digital camera is easy to shoot good films as long as you pay attention to composition and expression; However, when the light shines from the back of the character-that is, the backlight shooting environment we are going to discuss today, the shining edge hair is not easy to capture. If shooting in automatic mode, the front of the film is underexposed; If the portrait face is tested by spot metering mode, the face exposure of the film is normal, but the highlights such as hair are overexposed. In the backlight environment, cleverly combining light can create a concise and expressive charming image. Here are some techniques for backlight portrait shooting:

First, the choice of light.

1, generally choose morning and evening, when the light is soft; The contrast will not be too great, and the exposure will not be overexposed or underexposed.

2. Silhouette shooting can be positive backlight or side backlight; Comparatively speaking, the film shot by front backlight is relatively dull (see figure 1), so the film shot by side backlight is generally more stereoscopic.

Second, fill the light or not.

1, if you don't need artificial lighting, it's usually silhouette shooting. This photo uses average metering, so there are still some details in the portrait face, which emphasizes the light and shadow effect.

If you use spot metering mode to measure light at the highlight (the upper right corner of this photo), the shot film will emphasize the silhouette effect.

2, on the contrary, artificial fill light (using a special reflector, or a large area of white plastic foam board; Or fill the light with a flash), you will get a more beautiful portrait effect, the hair can be brighter, and the portrait skin color is more moving; Figure 4 shows the effect of unfilled light. Although the photo was taken with LED effect, the face color was dull without artificial fill light, while the photo 1 only used the reflector to fill light, and the facial effect was very different.

Third, technical skills.

1, emphasizing the light and shadow effect, generally small aperture high-speed shutter; The principle is that the portrait is in or near total black, and the sky can be colored. Although sometimes in order to get a shallow depth of field effect, the aperture should not be too large, otherwise some pictures will be overexposed.

2. Adjust the position of the camera to make the angle between people and incident light the best; A strong visual effect can be obtained by assisting high-position or low-position pitching.
