How to use the camera stand
When shooting with a long focal length lens, or when a long exposure is needed, using a tripod can keep the shooting stable and get a high-definition picture. Tripod is also an important auxiliary tool for a person to take a selfie when going out. Tripod is generally made of metal or engineering plastic, which can change its height by shrinking and stretching, and is also beneficial to carrying.
Choose a tripod:
First, make sure it is stable. According to the weight of the camera and lens you use, choose a tripod that is as stable as possible.
Second, it is necessary to consider the convenience of carrying, and on the basis of meeting the stability, try to choose a small size and light weight.
There are two locking methods for tripod feet: spiral locking lever and fast folding locking lever. The former is durable but slow to adjust, and the latter is easy to fix but easy to wear, which can be selected according to needs.
The basic way to operate the tripod correctly is to draw out the thickest foot joint and lock it, then draw out the thinnest foot joint and gradually separate the three brackets of the tripod until it is stable. The lifting column in the middle is only used to fine-tune the height and try to avoid rising to the highest place to prevent "top-heavy". Before shooting, you should also check the locking devices of all parts to make them tight and avoid shaking.
If it is inconvenient to carry a tripod when going out, you can also use a monopod, which is a retractable independent support, which is convenient to carry and easy to use during the trip. Although it is not as stable as a tripod, it is not suitable for long exposure, but it is more convenient than a tripod in changing the shooting direction and angle, especially when capturing.
There are two main ways to use a monopod:
One is to let go of the monopod and support it on the ground;
Another way is to insert the bottom of the shortest monopod into your coat pocket or stick it directly to your waist.
The former is suitable for installing heavy long lenses; The latter is suitable for lenses with general focal length; The former is not very convenient to walk around when using, and the latter is much more mobile, but its stability may be slightly worse than the former.
Using selfies is also an effective way to stabilize the camera. Especially when the camera has a fixed position, such as being mounted on a tripod or a table, if long exposure is needed, such as 1/2s,1sec, etc. It is also easy to shake the camera by pressing the shutter by hand. You can take a selfie at this time. After pressing the shutter, because the hand is no longer in contact with the camera, starting the shutter by taking a selfie can avoid some unnecessary vibration. Of course, this kind of shooting mainly deals with some static objects, which is not suitable for capturing some dynamic moments.
