Review of Jianghan Guan Museum

Jianghan Pass Museum, located near Wuhan Pass, is a product left by western colonists in the late Qing Dynasty. 1922 was officially completed, and it has a history of 96 years and has become a landmark building in Wuhan. Share with you your views on Jianghan Guan Museum.

Jianghan Customs Building, with a history of 96 years, ended the mission of Wuhan Customs Office Building. Three years later, it was converted into Jianghan Pass Museum, which opened on February 28th, 2065438.

At 3: 00 pm on February 30th, 65438, with the long-lost melodious bell of Jianghan Pass, we walked out of Jianghan Pass Museum Building after visiting the cultural relics in the collection, and our hearts were filled with emotion.

1862, Jianghan Pass; 1924 65438+ 10, Jianghan Guan Building was completed. Jianghan Guan Building, as a landmark building in Wuhan, has witnessed the vicissitudes of Wuhan in the past hundred years and is an important historical witness of Wuhan's modernization.

We visited the basic exhibition of the museum:

Jianghan Chaozong-the course of Wuhan's urban modernization and its related restoration display.

The basic display is divided into three units:

The opening of Hankou-the beginning and arduous course of Wuhan's urban modernization-the tortuous exploration and glory of Wuhan's urban modernization-development and take-off.

Based on more than 500 cultural relics such as Jianghan Guanjiebei and Silver Ingot, this paper comprehensively uses photos, plates, tables, oil paintings, scene restoration and three-dimensional imaging to show the history of Wuhan's rapid rise after its opening, truly restore the tortuous course of Wuhan's transformation from a feudal inland town to a modern industrial and commercial city, and open up urban modernization.

Through the exhibition, we learned that a Wuhan business history is closely related to Jianghan Pass. Hankou has opened a port and set up a customs office, with developed commerce and trade and prosperous economy. Wuhan has become a modern metropolis, a trade distribution center in Central China and an important gateway to foreign trade. Wuhan Jianghan Customs' contribution to promoting foreign trade and the export-oriented development of urban economy is second only to Shanghai's Jiang Customs. Through the history of Jianghan Pass, it shows the humiliating history of Wuhan in modern times and the brilliant achievements in the new period.

The exhibits are displayed accurately, vividly and realistically, close to the public and grounded. As a national key cultural relics protection unit, Jianghan Guan Museum displays cultural relics in cultural relics buildings, which undoubtedly deepens our citizens' understanding and love for urban history. It is also important for us ticket collectors to have a ticket. There are no tickets for Jianghan Guan Museum at present.

There is an old building at No.95, Jiang Yan Road, Hankou, covering an area of 1.499 square meters, with a building area of 4359 square meters. Greek classicism and European Renaissance architectural styles have stood by the Yangtze River for nearly a hundred years. It's Jianghan Pass.

It's hard to say how deeply this old house by the Yangtze River has influenced the Wuhan people. I just remember that every time I pass by, the thick brown door on the second floor will always attract people to push it open. It seems that those old days that were locked up can be found back.

Maybe it's really time. Time has caught us off guard. Nearly a hundred years later, this old house was officially turned into a museum and opened to the public free of charge, thus opening the old days in memory.

After vicissitudes of life, it stands on the Yangtze River.

Time seems to have returned to Hankou a hundred years ago. 1858 After the Tianjin Treaty was signed, Hankou became one of the new foreign trade ports. 186 1 year, Hankou opened, 1862, Jianghan Pass was formally established.

At first, Jianghan Pass was located in Hankoujiang Street. At the end of 19, with the prosperity of modern commerce, trade and shipping in Wuhan, Jianghan customs business grew rapidly, and the original relevant departments were narrow and crude, which was not enough for application. It is necessary to build a new customs building selectively. 1922, Jianghan Pass chose the current site to formally build the building.

At that time, there were many foreign firms in Hankou Concession, and most of the buildings were European. Therefore, the architectural design of Jianghan Pass Building is also the most European style with British classicism. It was designed by Simpson, an architect of Shanghai's famous British construction company at that time, and was supervised by Jingming Foreign Firm in Yingshang, Hankou.

Jianghan Pass is a five-story building, which consists of a four-story main building and a five-story bell tower. It was about 45.85 meters high and was the tallest building in Wuhan at that time.

The exterior building of Jianghan Pass is horizontally paved with large strips of granite, and the exterior wall is decorated with granite. Walls, mountain flowers, window sills, and the entrance to the gate are all treated with artistic modeling.

The whole building looks three-dimensional and elegant, very infectious. On the fourth floor, Zong Yi, a famous calligrapher and former director of the Hubei Provincial Department of Education, inscribed "The Han Pass on the Weibei River".

Every part of Jianghan Pass building shows the unique existence of this building. In the eyes of the curator of Jianghan Guan Museum, this building not only bears the rise and fall of this city, but also witnesses the growth and progress of its people.

"This is undoubtedly the treasure of the town hall and the most irreplaceable landmark of the city."

I have been listening to the bell for decades.

Like Wuhan's Jianghan Pass complex, it grew up with the bell of Jianghan Pass and became the collective memory of several generations of Jiangcheng people.

Jianghan Pass Bell Tower is built at the top of the tower, which is about 23. 1 m high. The bell tower on all sides is gradually closed, which is a typical British classical architectural style.

This bell tower not only has a big clock, but also can be used as a lighthouse and observation deck. The bell tower is divided into five floors: the pendulum room on the first floor, the computer room on the second floor, the control room on the third floor, the hour room on the fourth floor and the bronze bell room on the fifth floor. There are copper clocks of different sizes hanging indoors.

The bell tower on the bell tower has experienced vicissitudes and has reached its twilight years. This year is 9 1 year.

1923 The famous Lamas company in the United States made the main core of the tower clock, which was installed by Hengdali Watch and Hankou David Watch. A year later, the tower clock was officially put into operation, and the bell ringing music was the same as that of Big Ben in Britain, using Westminster bell ringing music.

Year after year, punctuality is accompanied by the growth of Wuhan people from generation to generation. I don't know if you remember. In September, 2000, due to the serious wear and tear of some parts of the main engine, the mechanical tower clock, which had been running for 76 years, was retired, and the electronic clock replaced the copper bell, and the quartz clock movement replaced the main engine of the mechanical tower clock.

Now, the bell tower has been restored in Jianghan Pass Museum, and the melodious music and bells of Westminster reverberate over the three towns of Wuhan. Using computer control, the original hammer strikes the original copper bell on time. The feeling of "original flavor" may also fulfill the long-cherished wish of a generation of old Wuhan people.

The treasure of the town hall, the silver ingot, witnessed the tax revenue.

Aside from the priceless Jianghan Pavilion, the museum's collections should not be underestimated. Over the past three years, Jianghan Customs Museum has collected more than 3,000 pieces of metalworking, porcelain, wood products, paper products and other cultural relics at all levels from home and abroad, reflecting the history of modern customs and concessions in Wuhan and the changes of modern social life.

Among them, the most famous treasure of the town hall belongs to Guan Yinding. Customs silver ingots have always been scarce. At present, there are many kinds of silver ingots in modern customs in China, such as Jiang Customs, Guangdong Customs and Jianghan Customs. Silver ingots with related names are extremely rare.

These three silver ingots all weigh 1.800g and are horseshoe-shaped with the words "Jianghan Pass" engraved on them. Two pieces in the twenty-four years of Tongzhi and Guangxu were even named after casting craftsmen Luo Zhi and Wang Song.

As can be seen from the stamp, it was cast by Cheng Hao and Xiecheng banks entrusted by Jianghan Customs at different times.

According to Zhou Jing, Jianghan Pass made the collected silver into silver ingots and turned them over to the state treasury, nominally belonging to the Qing government, but in fact it was mainly used for reparations. To say that it is priceless may just be a historical object that witnessed the humiliation of the late Qing government.

Touch history and restore the customs of the Republic of China

(Jianghan Customs Museum restores the customs scene of the Republic of China)

The most brilliant display of Jianghan Customs Museum is the restoration of customs scenes in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.

In 20 13, Jianghan Guan Building "repaired the old with the old", mainly to restore the original appearance when it was built in 1924.

The wooden floors, stairs, stained glass windows, chandeliers, wall lamps and fireplaces laid in the building are all very retro.

On the second and third floors, the real scenes of tax office, Wu Jiangke office and secretarial office were restored to a higher degree, and the working scenes of customs officers in those years were experienced.

The original appearance of the second floor of Jianghan Pass shows the customs declaration hall of that year. European-style furniture, doors and windows, old abacus, desk lamp, mechanical computer, bronze statue and real-life customs declarant reproduce the busy scene of that year.

"If the audience wants to know how people declare customs in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China? I still suggest you take a look at our phantom imaging. "

Zhou Jing said. As long as you touch the display screen, phantom imaging directly shows the work of Jianghan Customs staff in one day. Inspection-customs declaration-inspection-tax declaration-tax payment in one go.

Whether it is the bell tower or the silver ingot, everything in the Jianghan Pass Museum is like opening a Pandora's box of history, which makes the Great Hankou in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China within reach.

Perhaps, just like the long-lost bell of 15, I think this old house will always stand by the Yangtze River and witness the infinite flying of the city, because it is the Jianghan Pass complex of the whole city.
