What are the common mistakes of novice photographers?
Many people have committed this kind of thing. They spent a lot of money on cameras and photography skills courses/books, went to a great shooting location, and soon? Because a little tired, hungry or bored? Gave up. There are still many people who don't spend too much energy in one place, probably because they think the first photo is good enough. But experience tells us that the best photos often appear after trying all angles. There are countless photos on the internet now. If you want to get some different results, you must pay more time and energy. If you persist a little longer than others, you can become a better photographer.
Take a portrait with a wide-angle lens
When the portable digital camera is turned on, the lens is generally located at the wide-angle end. Most SLR camera lenses are also located at the wide-angle end when they are put away, so that they can be easily put into the camera bag. So wide angle has become the default choice for many people. However, the distortion of wide-angle lens is not suitable for portrait photography, especially when taking close-ups of people. Unless you deliberately pursue this effect, please remember to turn the lens to the telephoto end. A telephoto lens can often take more attractive portrait photos.
3. Take a blurry photo.
At the shutter speed of 1/8s or even 1/80s, the camera is very sensitive to jitter. Novices often don't realize that photographers with a little experience feel stable. If it is not intentional, blurred photos are usually unwelcome. Many photo contests and magazines don't use blurred photos. The most important thing to take clear photos is to keep the camera stable. The best way is to use a tripod. But it doesn't matter if you can't always carry a tripod. Nowadays, many lenses have anti-shake function, and the high sensitivity effect of the camera is also improving. So don't be afraid to improve ISO sensitivity except to find a bracket to keep it as stable as possible.
Step 4 shoot the building too close
In order to get a panoramic view, it is necessary to lift the camera or use a wide-angle lens when shooting nearby buildings. Doing so will make the vertical line become a diagonal line that converges to a point, or there will be obvious distortion. How can I make parallel lines also be parallel lines in photos? Theoretically, you need to keep the focal plane of the camera parallel to the building plane. This involves many photography skills and methods. Generally speaking, you can hold the camera high instead of shooting it backwards. If there are other buildings opposite the building where you can take photos, you must use them. In order to reduce distortion, try to shoot with a long focal length from a distance instead of shooting with a wide angle at close range. But be careful not to let irrelevant things enter the picture.
5. There is no clear subject in the photo.
Finally, most photos will never be noticed, just because there is no clear subject or too many messy elements, which makes people confused. This is due to the difference between our observation of the world and the camera that records the scene. We will focus on what we want to see and ignore other things, but the camera will faithfully record everything in front of the camera.
