A Brief Introduction of Zheng Damin, Translator of Tess of the D 'Urbervilles

Introduction to Zheng Damin's Translation of Tess: Zheng Damin is a famous translator in China. The third executive director of Shanghai Translators Association. Born in September, 1946, from dongzhi county, Anhui. I have lived in Shanghai since I was a child. I worked as a teacher in Qiyi Middle School, a translator in Zhonghua Shipyard, a worker in Shanghai Boiler Factory and a translator in Baosteel General Factory. 1979, he was admitted as a graduate student by the Foreign Languages Department of Fudan University. 1982 assigned to Shanghai Translation Publishing House for editing. He is currently the editorial director of European and American Literature and a member of Shanghai Translators Association. When Zheng Damin was studying at Fudan University, he participated in the editing and annotation of Selected Reading of English Literature. After entering Shanghai Translation Publishing House, he edited works such as From Shakespeare to Austin, Lord of the Flies, International Pen Club and Milton's Comments. At the same time, he translated priestley's novel Good Companion, Hope's novel The Bishop's Sin, Mu Yi Foster's novel Deviating from the Road of Coronos, holas Volp's novel The Castle of Otranto, and American writer Hamlin Garland's novel The Busy Road, and cooperated with French writer Surize and British writer Susan Hill to translate the novel The Green King.
